LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING

REALLY IMPORTANT!

Bill of Rights

Amendment I

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Given the kind of "brownshirt" behavior that has been happening at the instigation of the Obama campaign, this is a part of our national LAW that requires revisiting and reinforcement! No, Senator Obama and cohorts, you do not have the RIGHT to threaten media outlets or to attempt to compel television outlets to refrain from broadcasting a campaign commercial from an independent political group that contains not one word of falsehood! Nor do functionaries of the DNC have the right to hassle and "rough up" independent journalists who are on a public sidewalk, even when you are so dopey as to do it in front of cameras that are recording every stupid move you make.

Democrats and the Left have long promoted "political correctness", despite their unwillingness to observe that peculiar convention vis-a-vis Republicans and the Right. I have referred frequently to a "do as I say, not as I do" mentality rife amongst left leaning politicians and this is just one more example.

Senator Obama is already talking about establishing a national police force and the behavior of too many in the Democratic Party's Obama Wing is the best argument of all for the election of Senator John McCain. He may not be my brand of conservative but he is, by God, a far more reliable citizen and patriot than his opponent!

VOX POPULI

I was directed by Conservative Grapevine to a leftward leaning blog which contained a letter from an Obama supporter which basically admonished the Hillary Clinton supporters of the Democratic Party to STFU and vote for Barack the Magnificent! The comments section was instructive and fascinating. I commend it to your attention!

JAMES EARL CARTER, JR.
THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING!

On PBS Monday, former President Jimmy Carter referred to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as “this black boy” during coverage of the Democratic National Convention. No one batted an eye. And nobody has called him on it either.

Why does his family permit him to be trotted out like this? It is evident to me that he is in the throes of some sort of mental disability, whether it be Alzheimer’s or just the encroachment of very advanced age removing some of his internal “appropriate speech” filters so that at long last his true lack of character and humanity is becoming utterly clear.

Memo to the Carter family: Lock this old fart up before he embarrasses his family and his country further. Don’t make me tell you again!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TWO DELICIOUSLY
WONDERFUL WOMEN!

Had she lived, Irene Savko Miller would have had a birthday today. I still love her and miss her very much. She was my mother and my best friend. She nurtured me, love me and educated me and all the while shared with me her fantastic - and very offbeat - sense of humor! Mom, you may have left your mortal existence far too many years ago, but you are alive and probably tsk, tsk, tsking my many screw-ups on another plane. And Mom, notice how carefully I have avoided mentioning how old you would have been today, had you lived. I am still following your instructions quite carefully!

As it happens, today is also the birthday of my friend Pam's mother - Joyce Cascioli. She is a magnificent woman, generous of heart and filled with wisdom and humor. God bless and keep you beloved lady.

NANCY PELOSI – DELUSIONS OF ADEQUACY

At the Democratic Convention in Denver, Nancy Pelosi paraded her elderly and Botox rich visage on the first night of the convention. Ms. Pelosi, the first female Speaker of the House of representatives seemed to dismiss the perception that Senator Barack Hussein Obama was a prime example of a younger and less qualified male being promoted ahead of a more qualified and older woman.
"This wasn't an appointment, this was an election," she told Moran. "You have to give credit to the Obama campaign. They out-organized everyone. A year ago, we all thought Sen. Clinton would be the candidate for president and therefore the president. We all thought that if there was some other candidate who would emerge, it would not be someone that hardly anyone had ever heard of, Barack Obama."
Apparently the fact that very close to HALF the Democratic Party primary voters refrained from voting for Senator Barack Hussein Obama is unimportant to the mighty Mrs. Pelosi, a leader in a party that constantly prattles about every vote counting. Hypocrisy is alive and well and living in Denver this week!

Mrs. Pelosi is a deeply deluded woman if she honestly believes that Senator Obama’s probable nomination is anything other than the result of a well-programmed orator, who uses lots of words but says little, with deeply suspect financing, capable of flimflamming enough of the electorate into voting for him despite his numerous and glaring inadequacies as a candidate which were then overlooked by those whose job it is to give critical evaluation of each candidate for the Presidency. And while Mrs. Pelosi may not be willing to admit it (being as she once averred, the “most powerful woman in the world” and too busy for trifling matters), she is deluded on this as well as myriad other matters.

On “Meet the Press” this weekend, she had the effrontery to “explain” Catholic theology from the depths of her total ignorance of the Catholic Church’s stance on abortion. Pelosi was dumb enough to say that the church has not been able to define when life begins. In point of fact, for 2000 years, the Church has defined the beginning of life to be at the moment of conception. I was taught that in grammar school and high school. Why wasn’t Speaker Pelosi? And I’m barely 2 years younger than the venerable old bag, so if I remember that, why doesn’t she?

In an article written by Bob Cusack in “The Hill” today, it was reported that in a release issued Monday night, Washington Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl said Pelosi's comments on "Meet the Press" on Sunday "were incorrect." Wuerl noted that Pelosi responded to a question on when life begins by mentioning she was Catholic. So clearly, Mrs. Pelosi wasn't listening when she was being taught her catechism, or she didn't understand it (entirely possible - she doesn't strike me as being especially acute intellectually) or she has twisted the teaching of the Catholic Church in her own mind to justify her behavior, which can best be described as "giving scandal to the faithful" which is in itself a grievous offense. As a “pro-choice” Catholic, Mrs. Pelosi should be interdicted from receiving the sacraments. She apparently is under the impression that this is a requirement that varies from constituency to constituency and is clearly under the mistaken impression that, like the Democratic Party, the Catholic church is one of “moral equivalency”. Not so fast Nancy. The rules are the rules are the rules. No wiggle room. None.

I very much doubt that Nancy Pelosi will be speaker once the next Congress is seated next January, given the 9% approval rating of the current bunch. And that would be a real shame, since their abject incompetence has been the saving grace of the Democratic Majority - keeping a bunch of stumbling halfwits from committing as much mischief as originally planned!
UPDATE: In an article appearing under the byline of Eric Gorski, an Associated Press Writer, it is reported that, despite the absolute condemnation of her ignorant remarks, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not backing off contentious comments about abortion she made during a weekend television talk show appearance. Well of course not - isn't she the most powerful woman in the world - more powerful than the Pope? Yeah, right!

REALLY - THE FAT LADY HASN'T SUNG YET!

In a Reuters poll out today, Senator John McCain is leading Senator Barack Obama by a margin of 5 points! Considering that Senator Obama was some 15 points ahead of Senator McCain not very long ago, this is very, very bad news for Senator Obama.

Barack Hussein Obama has only himself to blame for this dip in his polling numbers. His numerous and easily refuted egregious lies over the past several months have hurt him badly. We have already had a world class liar (Bill Clinton) in the presidency and most Americans would prefer to avoid a repeat. Obama's response to Russia's invasion of Georgia was typically mealy-mouthed and far from impressive. Given that we live in an increasingly dangerous world, it was not reassuring.

Obama's performance at Saddleback was a disaster and the babbling idiots in his campaign trying to blame it on John McCain somehow cheating (as if) was embarrassing at best. All in all, it is becoming evident for all to see that this would-be Emperor is bare-assed naked and it isn't a pretty sight.

Meanwhile, the all-too-quiet Hillzilla lurks around the corner, awaiting the perfect moment to pounce and snatch Senator Obama's victory out of his hands.

It's going to be a very interesting Democratic Convention! Almost as riveting as watching Michael Phelps swim away with 8 gold medals whilst displaying a level of humility and graciousness unmatched by either Democratic contender!

BAMBI PICKS A VICE PRESIDENT?

It appears that Senator Barack Hussein Obama is leaning toward selecting Senator Joe Biden as his running mate.. I’m absolutely certain that the logic involved in this choice is clear to Senator Obama, but the wisdom completely escapes me.

“Rosary Joe” Biden is not one of the most ignorant members of the Senate but he's no rocket scientist on his best day and he comes from the State of Delaware which has what – 1 electoral vote? What on earth would this selection add to the Obama campaign other than further proof that the Senator lacks any kind of common sense or good judgment?

Will this be another one of Senator Obama's ill-conceived decisions that comes back to bite him on the butt? Would seem so to me!

GREAT BIG FLAP AND (MAYBE) SOME
SOUR GRAPES?

Nobody can ever accuse me of lacking national pride, any more than anyone could ever accuse me of rooting for college football teams other than The Ohio State University Buckeyes and, in the alternative, UCLA!

There have been many gums flapping, frequently in a manner not calculated to achieve anything other than further uproar and hard feelings regarding the age of the female Chinese gymnasts. And believe it or not, I think this kind of uproar should be quashed firmly until after the games.

In the first place, the blathering by Bela and Marta Karoyli is far too easily interpreted (including by me) of reeking of sour grapes. And while they may even be correct in their suspicions, there is a time and place for everything and their braying and bloviating accomplishes nothing.

In the second place, did the American gymnasts screw up in the “team” portion of the competition? You bet your ass they did – and they screwed up unequivocally. Did the Chinese gymnasts perform more competently? Also yes.

And yes too, the Chinese may have had the unfair advantage of gymnasts who were too young to have a sense of fear or pressure as a more mature gymnast might have and they may have had the additional advantage of being more flexible than an older gymnast and absolutely, it is almost certain that in their later lives they will experience tremendous physical difficulties due to the abuse of their tiny bodies at such a tender age. And yes, the rules were promulgated to protect them from that physical abuse but - in the end - isn't it the responsibilities of their parents (or the Chinese sporting authorities acting in loco parentis or just plain loco) to protect them?

But again – this is not the time. The Summer Olympics should be a celebration of youthful competition, unaffected by national politics of any nation, including the host nation which is clearly doing everything in its power to tilt the playing field and sell their repressive and authoritarian way of life to the rest of the world. But to the athletes, politics are essentially irrelevant. These athletes have worked their whole (sometimes too brief according to the rules) lives to arrive at this pinnacle of international competition and sport. Let them celebrate their youth, their strength, their physical brilliance without the rest of the yada-yada-yada weighing them down.

Enough already! Figure out - if you can - a way to prevent this kind of cheating at some later date. Not now. Later. And yes, I agree, a few athletes might be cheated out of a deserved medal - but solely based on my experience of the team competition of the female gymnasts - the correct result ended up happening anyway.

One final note: I don't know whether this was started by the French although I suspect them based on prior actions on their part but rumors about Michael Phelps taking steroids were happily spread by the French at the very least. It is also a sober fact that because Michael Phelps is not an idiot, he has voluntarily been submitting to testing every two weeks for the past three years. So sorry jealous trolls - you aren't going to tarnish Mr. Phelps achievements in that manner!

Final note #2: To those athletes, starting with James Blake, quit your fricking whining. Someone has to win and someone has to lose despite what you were taught in your elementary schools where everyone gets a medal or a certificate on the mistaken notion that competition is somehow not healthy for children (which is pure bullshit). At the Olympic level, anyone can beat anyone at any time on any given day - you're all the best of the best so if you don't live up to your own sense of entitlement, shut the fuck up! You went to the freaking Olympics! How many people get to do that? That alone should be a rush to last a lifetime. So if you didn't live up to your own lofty (and frequently overblown) expectations for your experience - suck it up. That's how life works. Deal.

I HATE BEING RIGHT!

To be absolutely candid, I really enjoy being right, so if you read this article you will see that my predictions of a not-so-smooth Democratic convention are beginning to percolate, quietly bubbling to the surface.

First there was the eerie quiet coming out of the Hillary Clinton campaign. And then there was the apparent, yet patently insincere support being given to Senator Obama in a few public appearances where, whoops he almost forgot to give Hillary her check!

In the last couple of weeks Bill Clinton has been making some not-so-subtle references to candidates being constitutionally “able” to achieve the nomination coupled with the sudden questioning of Senator Obama’s birth certificate. Meanwhile the National Enquirer – owned by a friend of the Clintons − breaks the story of John Edwards’ extramarital affair in all its despicable and tawdry glory, thus destroying one of Senator Obama’s purported vice-presidential picks for all time.

Finally, today it was announced that − contrary to all previously published information − the name of Hillary Rodham Clinton WILL be placed in nomination after all!

Do we hear the sound of slowly stirring, very worried superdelegates, agitated by those world class provocateurs, Bill and Hill?

Fasten your seatbelts kids. It’s going to be a bumpy convention!
Okay Frito - cue the theme from "Jaws" - thar she blows!

WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE . . . .?

I just came across a late July article today wherein the infamous Mike Nifong of Durham/Duke/laCrosse team-persecution fame has endorsed Barack Hussein Obama for President. First Phil Spector and then Ludacris endorse Senator Obama, and now the perpetrator of some of the worst prosecutorial misconduct I’ve observed in my lifetime!

Notice how little attention these (no doubt unwelcome) endorsements have garnered in the mainstream media. And in a sense, it’s understandable. Would YOU want to be endorsed by the likes of any of them? I mean wasn’t the endorsement of Senator “Breck Girl” Edwards enough of a downer? And by the way, am I the only one who has noticed that the mainstream press is now calling Senator Edwards “The Breck Girl” too? Can calling him "The Silky Pony" be far behind!?

LAWSUIT TOSSED OUT OF COURT AND NOBODY CARES?

This article mentions the fact that the specious lawsuit of the despicable duo of Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson has been tossed out of court. Did you see this anywhere in the mainstream news or anywhere else? Of course you didn't.

A former boss of mine, the late and much lamented Herbie Oppenheimer, once told me that "anybody can sue anybody for anything" and that such lawsuits can take place regardless of merit, thus creating at little risk to the plaintiff an enormous amount of financial burden - and sometimes financial ruin - to the defendant(s). Herbie was, as he was in so many things, absolutely correct. He was also the first Jewish Republican I ever met! A man well ahead of his time.

Despite the fact that it is now well settled that Richard Armitage "outed" Valerie Plame - itself not an illegal act since she was not an undercover operative protected by law - the cognescenti in the ubernutjob regions of the blogsphere have continued to prattle on about how "evil Cheney" revealed Valerie Plame's identity - despite the truth being well publicized.

Yes, here in the [slightly] saner regions of the blogsphere we all know that the Plame/Wilson duo would rather lie than tell the truth and value self-aggrandizement almost as much as does Barack Hussein Obama, but my question is - when are we going to make these simple facts indelibly known to the rest of the country in an indisputable manner?

Finally, when will the nutroots calm down and stop trying to make themselves feel relevant by indulging in character assassination aimed at people they deem to be unworthy of, at the very least, their neutrality?

MODERN POLITICS?

The mainstream media is still making it their business to avoid covering the John Edwards “love child” saga, apparently relying on the excuse that John Edwards is a private citizen. In what alternate universe is that true? The man has sought the nomination of the Democratic Party for president twice and was selected to run on the general election ticket with John “Le Fraud” Kerry. He (allegedly) served in the Senate from North Carolina for 6 years. He has been mentioned as a possible running mate for the Obamamessiah and has also been touted as a possible Cabinet member. That, my friends, is no private citizen.

Meanwhile, over in cloud-cuckooland (aka The Obama Campaign), the Senator continues his imperial campaign that is lacking only an official election to office to become less foolish and annoying. Determined attempts seem to continue to remove any visible symbols of the country whose presidency he seeks (aka the flag) and some of his campaigning has taken place in lands where there are no voters. And before someone picks nits – the American military serving outside the U.S. has little to no reason to love, like or even tolerate Barack Hussein Obama. They are smart enough to understand how dangerous he is to our nation’s survival.

Senator McCain’s campaign tried to make a point about Obama’s (non) qualifications with their most recent ad that briefly pictured both Britney Spears and Paris Hilton – making the very valid point that all were “well known” but none were “accomplished”. Ms. Hilton responded with her own advertisement in which she proposed an energy plan that was framed in more understandable language and which made a great deal of sense. To say that worries me is gross understatement. When a sensible energy plan is proposed by a woman whose irrelevance is astounding and that plan is smarter and more doable than anything proposed by two men who are running for the presidency, there are grounds for worry.

Senator Obama continues to proclaim that “We are what we are waiting for!” which is, to be blunt, the most asinine statement by a politician that I’ve heard in a very long time. And he continues to trundle around the world as though the election was over and he had won. Not so fast bucko!

First Obama needs to get past Bill and Hillary. Then he has to manage to keep the American public from fully understanding who he really is. In previous (pre-Internet) days, that might have been possible. Now? Not so much! And getting past the Clintons still may constitute Obama’s most enormous stumbling block. Bill Clinton recently has made some gratuitously provocative comments vis-à-vis Senator Obama that would indicate to people who can read between the lines that Senator Obama may not have the nomination as firmly in hand as has been assumed. Among other things, there is the question of his citizenship status. And, more and more information about his previous mentors is surfacing, together with lots of factual information that supports the scenario that he is, at the very least, a dedicated socialist and, at the very worst, an adherent of that wholly unworkable philosophy called Communism which for most of the 20th century visited misery upon far too much of the world.

And if that weren’t troublesome enough, now there is talk of resurrecting the presidential hopes of the Gorebot. Ultimately, I think that is foolishness personified. If, heaven forefend, I were Albert Gore, Jr., I would be unwilling to give up my lucrative and largely unscrutinized current lifestyle, especially since the shelf life for same is starting to tick away as real scientists express real reservations about the so-called global warming scam that has been such a success for the former Vice President. Second, running again for public office would mean that the most boring man in America would need to open up his books to scrutiny. Somehow I doubt that he is all that eager to reveal just how much money he has made from his attempts to frighten the planet into behaving with gross stupidity!

Senator McCain has fielded a few good ads and has, when appropriate, gotten off some seriously good shots at the leftist nonentity being put forward by the Democratic Party. It is entirely possible that the real John McCain is about to show up – and not a moment too soon. There are also signs that some Republicans have, in the immortal words of Dennis Miller, “grown some Snickers”!

The Democrats have seen fit to pack up their dump trucks and squeaky toys and head on home without accomplishing any of their agenda, although their greediest members did manage to scoop up their usual ration of pork. Why is it that people vote for them again? They cannot be unaware of their low approval rating (when I last checked it was 9% - which means that 91% of Americans do NOT approve of their job performance) and yet they scuttled out of town without doing thing one about our nation’s energy problems. Most of the members of Congress (most Democrats and far too many Republicans as well) are now deemed (by me – but hey, it’s a free country unless Obama is elected) to be unemployable in private industry. Is that why they despise the economic model that made our country great? Because they know they could never survive, let alone thrive, in it? To be blunt, if I had employees who performed as poorly as this vacationing Congress has, they’d be unemployed and I’d have hired some people who are willing and able to perform their jobs with dedication, intelligence and some common sense!

I’m taking a 3-day weekend but I’ve worked my tush off this week so I’m entitled to my 3 days. See you on Monday.

POPE BENEDICT ANTICIPATED THE OBAMA RELIGION BACK IN 2003 - AT LEAST THAT'S MY TAKE ON THE MATTER!

"Let us not forget that Marxism, as the one great political force of our twentieth century, made its appearance with the claim to be bringing a new world of freedom and of free people. This very promise of knowing the scientifically guaranteed way to freedom, and of creating the new world, drew to it many of the boldest spirits of our age; ultimately it even appeared as the force through which the Christian teaching of redemption could be transformed into a realistic practical means for liberation - as the force that could bring the Kingdom of God as the true kingdom of men. The collapse of realist socialism in the East European states has not quite laid aside all such hopes, and here and there they still subsist, silently awaiting some new form."
