I have a master's degree and an exceptional education. The Constitution says what the Constitution means. The Congress is NOT and NEVER WILL BE Commander in Chief. That is the job of the PRESIDENT.

The Legislative body can propose funding. The President can VETO what they propose if it is bad law. If they can't override his veto - the veto stands.

paul, if you are this ignorant, please go comment somewhere where your ignorance will be appreciated. It is NOT appreciated here and I'm too damned old and crotchety to give you the education you should have gotten in public school!Gayle Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09223914127626675167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14397708.post-41120769956898202092007-04-04T20:25:00.000-04:002007-04-04T20:25:00.000-04:00That passage was written to ensure civilian contro...That passage was written to ensure civilian control over the military, not executive vs. legislative control over war making/ending decisions.

You know, in case you didn't study when you were in school.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14397708.post-9885865561544234302007-04-03T14:56:00.000-04:002007-04-03T14:56:00.000-04:00I've been crowing about the idiots who crossed-ove...I've been crowing about the idiots who crossed-over or sat on their hands every since the election. I understand people were horribly disillusioned with a Republican President/Senate/House that couldn't seem to do much of anything that was conservative outside of tax cuts and protecting the country (try to think of anything else).

That being said, I kept trying to make the point that change can happen in the primaries - quit settling for the wishy-washy incumbent just because you think he/she is more electable. Otherwise, a protest vote or no-vote is just propping up p.o.s. like Pelosi, et al. Hope those voters are finding it hard to swallow.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14397708.post-30255396704138553132007-04-03T12:47:00.000-04:002007-04-03T12:47:00.000-04:00you were linked by the mighty C&S !well said...and...you were linked by the mighty C&S !

well said...

and yet, some Conservatives actually blame Bush still.

a few act all upset with GW in regards to Pelosi's foolish meddling in Syria.

as if the focus on the unethical Democrat, who is engaged in the mindless undermining isn't worth their time.

part of being Conservative is personal responsibility, and yet some seem to want to put all responsibility for everything on this fine President.

that is exactly the misguided mindset which empowered Pelosi.

thanks for the fine post Ms. Miller.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
