Laura Lee Donoho delivers a masterful “smackdown” to the spineless wimps of the Republican Party now serving in the House and Senate.

I’m one of those Americans. If the Republicans are not going to stand up for victory and in support of the President I won’t back them. If they haven’t learned any lessons from the past election they are beyond teaching and need to lose the next election.

That I, a staunch Republican from a long line of genealogical Republicans feel so strongly about our need to win in Iraq and Iran if need-be, am willing to drop my support for the round heels in the party who are more interested in their own status and electability than in winning, we are in pretty bad times. They are not listening to us, they are not even listening to Petraeus, Fallon and Gates. They are, however, sending out their spokesmen to try to correct us!

I am inclined to agree with her. I am a lifelong Republican and I am fed up to my eyebrows with their “scurrying for cover” sycophantic behavior! Either you stand for something or get the hell out of the way!

We have about a year folks to kick these idiots in the derriere and make sure they realize what they have to lose.

If not, it may be time for a clean sweep. My only hesitation is that you cannot trust a Democrat with national security on the longest day you live and that’s worrisome. We see what’s happening right now in the Congress. I cannot imagine how out of control they would be without SOME small measure of opposition.

I'm becoming more of a Libertarian every day. Have you seen the list of 2008 Republican "Presidential" candidates?

What a joke. I hope that by 2012, a true conservative in the same vein as Ronald Reagan appears.

I can't help but ponder what Harry Truman would have thought of the modern Democratic Party!

of course i share the frustration and concern, but drifting libertarian is also rather problematic.

for if we leave the support of those conservatives in the GOP, like we failed to support in the House last NOV., the liberal democrat folly will only get worse.

the reality is, these wimpy politicians, elected Rhinos, are only adopting a mindset they feel was successful.

if we had strongly rebuked the unethical Democrat Party last Nov., the politicians would have gone the other way, just as they did in 2002 and 2004.

there will always be a percent to blow by the winds...

but to give up, and abandon it all, will only make matters far worse.

many did this in the last election, to 'teach us a lesson', and empowered the very folly they oppose.

i must say, Rudy, Romney are ethical leaders...

i am still amazed at how some Conservatives treat this fine President, as if he is not their ideal, for i wonder in life if anything ever is, or will be, in dealing with human nature in Government or politics.

they had the same attitude towards Reagan at the end of his Second Term, allowing the MSM to undermine his fine reputation with Iran Contra...

the opposition liberal nightmare is something that must be rebuked, and we must unite Conservatives to do so, or we are in deep trouble.

I agree the Republicans do seem to have a penchant for being spineless. That is so frustrating.

They are only human, unfortunately. I totally agree with you and wonder what I will do when it comes time to mark my ballot.

The best Republicans in the Senate yesterday were Mitch McConnell and Joe Lieberman!
