THE INCOMPARABLE WIDE AWAKE CAFÉ

Laura Lee Donoho delivers a masterful “smackdown” to the spineless wimps of the Republican Party now serving in the House and Senate.

I’m one of those Americans. If the Republicans are not going to stand up for victory and in support of the President I won’t back them. If they haven’t learned any lessons from the past election they are beyond teaching and need to lose the next election.

That I, a staunch Republican from a long line of genealogical Republicans feel so strongly about our need to win in Iraq and Iran if need-be, am willing to drop my support for the round heels in the party who are more interested in their own status and electability than in winning, we are in pretty bad times. They are not listening to us, they are not even listening to Petraeus, Fallon and Gates. They are, however, sending out their spokesmen to try to correct us!

I am inclined to agree with her. I am a lifelong Republican and I am fed up to my eyebrows with their “scurrying for cover” sycophantic behavior! Either you stand for something or get the hell out of the way!

We have about a year folks to kick these idiots in the derriere and make sure they realize what they have to lose.

If not, it may be time for a clean sweep. My only hesitation is that you cannot trust a Democrat with national security on the longest day you live and that’s worrisome. We see what’s happening right now in the Congress. I cannot imagine how out of control they would be without SOME small measure of opposition.

I'm becoming more of a Libertarian every day. Have you seen the list of 2008 Republican "Presidential" candidates?

What a joke. I hope that by 2012, a true conservative in the same vein as Ronald Reagan appears.

I can't help but ponder what Harry Truman would have thought of the modern Democratic Party!

I agree the Republicans do seem to have a penchant for being spineless. That is so frustrating.

They are only human, unfortunately. I totally agree with you and wonder what I will do when it comes time to mark my ballot.

The best Republicans in the Senate yesterday were Mitch McConnell and Joe Lieberman!
