Russian treason bill could hit Kremlin critics

By DAVID NOWAK, Associated Press Writer David Nowak, Associated Press Writer 26 mins ago

MOSCOW – A new law drafted by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's Cabinet would allow authorities to label any government critic a traitor — a move that leading rights activists condemned Wednesday as a chilling reminder of the times under Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.

The draft extends the definition of treason from breaching Russia's external security to damaging the nation's constitutional order, sovereignty or territorial integrity. That would essentially let authorities interpret any act against the interests of the state as treason — a crime prosecutable by up to 20 years in prison.

If we had this law, there would not be enough room in our prisons to accommodate the number of leftwingnut bastards who have trashed our current President due solely to Bush Derangement Syndrome. And yet, I don’t think any of us would – even though the vision of comeuppance is delicious – in any way want a law like this. And yes, our current situation isn’t really all that far away from it, is it?

Because, you know...not a single Republican bastard ever bashed Clinton. Never happened. And of course, not a single Republican bastard ever bashed Obama. Stop treating the world as Republicans are always right and divine and Democrats are wrong and spawns of satan. I don't think anyone will ever take your posts serious if all you do is bash Democrats. Try bashing the middle some...or "gasp"...bash a Republican now and then.

I don't take the comments of someone who cannot write in proper grammatical English seriously either!

That's it? You bash my grammar instead of addressing the meaning of my post. There is no way you can misconstrue the meaning of my post due to grammar issues. You are choosing to ignore it and tell me how improper my grammar is in order to illustrate how smart you are. You know the proper use of the ellipsis. You know when it is possible to start a sentence with the word “because”. Wow! I bet you are extremely smart. I bet you also have to tell everyone how smart you are. You should ask yourself how many times in the past week, or month, or six months you have told someone you were smart or that you were smarter than someone else. I bet you come up with a number greater than zero. You have probably been doing that your whole life. That is just sad.

I am now going to explain to you what my prior post meant in case the grammar confused you and you were not smart enough to figure things out. I called you a hypocrite. That is it in a nutshell. You basically call out Democrats for bashing President Bush in your post (THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM……!). You said they would be in prison if we had the equivalent to the Russian treason bill. You called the people who bashed President Bush “leftwing bastards” as well. You gave all the “rightwing bastards” who called out prior Democratic presidents a free pass. They would all be in the same prison. Why did you feel the need to single out Democrats? Your hypocrisy knows no bounds when it comes to politics. Republicans can do no wrong in your mind. I said in my post that if you want to be taken seriously you should bash all people who do wrong (at least “wrong” as defined in your mind – complaining about a president is not “wrong” to me).

You should just admit that you will always take the Republican point-of-view and never take a Democratic point-of-view even in the case where the Democratic point-of-view makes more sense. Just admit it.
