Okay - what I don't understand is this . . .

Why haven't the Dems dumped this dead-eyed, dishonest, incompetent crone? Is their self-delusion such that they are unaware of how deeply she is harming this country AND her fellow Democrats? When I realized that 40% of Democrats - her own party - voted against the "bailout" package yesterday, then it became clear that at least some of her fellow Dems had become disenchanted with her foolish and destructive antics as House Speaker. Time to get the rest of them on board. I cannot believe that there isn't someone better available!
OKAY – I DON’T UNDERSTAND OBAMAMANIA AT ALL!

I realize full well that the enthusiasts of Barack Hussein Obama’s candidacy see something in this creature of radical and divisive Chicago politics that I don’t see. I just wish I could fathom what that something actually is!

Is it that he is such a blank slate that the observer can write on Obama’s essential emptiness whatever philosophy or possibility the observer chooses?

Is he so evasive that we know he can never be blamed for anything he said, because he never says anything? And do not even begin to try to argue this point with me.

During the debate last Friday, Senator McCain was polite and gracious. He started the debate by wishing well to the hospitalized Senator Edward M. Kennedy – Senator Obama did not deign to mention Senator Kennedy. Senator McCain unfailingly referred to Senator Obama AS Senator Obama. On the other hand, Senator Obama unfailingly referred to Senator McCain as “John” (disrespectful in any context since Senator McCain is older than Senator Obama AND has far lengthier service in the Senate) or “you” – which is just plain rude and offensive.

Senator McCain talked about programs and specifics and his vision for the next 4 years. Senator Obama engaged in partisan rhetoric and attacks.

I am grateful that Senator McCain took advantage of a few openings and thoroughly smacked down this obstreperous puppy as he deserved. Now we must pray that the electorate – particularly those of us who are bitter and clinging to our guns and religion – do likewise!

I have to say - I've been trying to figure out the appeal of Senator Obama from the very beginning and I still just don't get it. He is tangle-tongued without a teleprompter, unable to think on his feet (which is a must-have quality for a president I would think), rude, obnoxious and just plain ignorant and unprepared, with a resume you can barely see. Why are his devotees so passionate about this empty suit covering an emptier interior?
LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT!

The incompetent crone who is Speaker of the House makes a spittle-spewing, vituperative, divisive and denigrating (of Republicans) speech BEFORE the vote. This speech is so out of line and over the top that 40% of the DEMOCRATS decide to vote against the bailout package and somehow this is the REPUBLICANS fault?

Was Mrs. Pelosi aware, when she became (in her words) "the most powerful woman in the world" that she would actually have to work with the other side and even accomplish things for the entire country - not just her safe little fiefdom in San Francisco? Was she aware that leadership was required in this position? Was she aware that her job was not to go flapping around the Middle East pursuing her own demented version of foreign policy, but rather to shepherd actual legislation through the U.S. House of Representatives and to do so in as bipartisan a manner as she possible could? Does this dippy bitch have a clue - about anything?

If she hasn't set the cause of so-called feminism back about 100 years, I'd be greatly surprised.

Vote on 11/4 - early and often - and see to it that these self-serving, hubris ridden idiots are all ridden out of town on a rail! Including and even especially San Fran Nan!

AND YES INDEED, I DO QUESTION THEIR PATRIOTISM!

THE FACE OF INCOMPETENT FAILURE
BAILOUT PLAN FAILS - ONCE AGAIN THE PELOSI-LED CONGRESS HAS EARNED ITS 9% APPROVAL RATING!

What's next?
NOW HE'S STARTING TO PISS ME OFF!

First, beloved baby sis was driving home from work on Saturday, heading for I-395 South and onward to I-95 South when she realized that the HOV lane had been closed for some odd reason to ALL traffic. Later, as she got further down, traveling in the "regular" lanes, she realized that the HOV lane had been closed because some politician was going somewhere - turned out it was Barack Hussein Obama displaying his deep concern for regular folks by seriously inconveniencing them on a Saturday afternoon en route to a speaking engagement at Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Why this arrogant asshat couldn't have taken a helicopter from D.C. to the roof of Mary Washington Hospital and by car across the street to his speaking engagement (for which he was FOUR hours late) is a mystery to me! Clearly he sees himself as already being quite a special fellow!

And then this morning I chanced upon this New York Post article:
"Barack Obama apparently broke his promise to the family of a fallen Wisconsin soldier when he mentioned the slain sergeant's name in his Friday debate with John McCain. Brian Jopek, the father of the late Ryan David Jopek, told National Public Radio in March that the family asked Obama to stop wearing his son's bracelet, but the Illinois senator continued to do so. Jopek said his ex-wife, Tracy, was upset .."
Tracy Jopek should be upset when this cynical poseur dares to use her dead son's name and bracelet for his own political aggrandizement! Take off the freaking bracelet Senator Obama and quit using the name of a fallen hero (which you aren't) without his surviving parents' permission (which you don't have). What part of keeping your damned promise don't you understand, you vainglorious pipsqueak!?

REP. TANCREDO IS STIRRING THE POT!
WANTS TO EVICT THE U.N. FROM U.S. SOIL!
GOOD ON HIM, SAYS THE CRANKY ONE!

If you trundle on over to Pam Meister's fine site you can read all about it. Sure I know that it is an idea whose time should have come already, but is tardy in its arrival, but a gal can dream can't she? Y'all have a nice weekend!

Democratic Congressman Warns Jews, Blacks to Beware of Palin
by Stephen Clark (Fox News)
Thursday, September 25, 2008

Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings on Wednesday warned two minority groups to beware of Sarah Palin because “anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.”

When this impeached Federal judge made these appalling and despicable remarks, it is reported that the audience laughed and applauded. Is this what the Democratic Party has become?
HEADS UP TO THE CLUELESS!

John McCain’s campaign theme is “America First” and had he not suspended the campaign and headed back to D.C. to do his job, he would not have been true to his principles. Like him or not, John McCain is a pretty consistent guy, especially when it comes to his core principles.

The fact that Barack Hussein Obama had to be shamed into actually DOING the job for which he is paid (Senator) is an appalling revelation of the kind of President he would be – voting present more often than not. And his dithering was another VERY bad sign. He keeps swaying with the prevailing winds, he’s gonna give himself whiplash!

And apparently his grasp of civics is still pretty shakey. No Senator Obama, we do not have 57 states. And NO Senator, we will not have a new president in 40 days. That’s only the election. Inauguration is several months distant!

SENATOR MCCAIN ACTS LIKE A STATESMAN

Liberals are squealing like stuck pigs because Senator John McCain has suggested that, due to the economic crisis currently afflicting our nation, he and Senator Barack Obama temporarily suspend their campaigns and postpone the debate to return to Washington, D.C. and actually perform the jobs for which they were elected!

They are charging that Senator McCain is sure he will lose the debate (he won’t) or is trying to interrupt Barack Obama’s “momentum” (that downward spiral is inevitable and unstoppable, thank God).

Senator John McCain’s campaign slogan is “America First” – and unlike Senator Obama, John McCain means what he says!

Deal with it!
OSCAR WINNER & SUPERCILIOUS TWIT!

Charlize Theron doesn't like Gov. Sarah Palin.

Why in the name of hell should we give a flying f**k what this SOUTH AFRICAN citizen and bimbo who happened to get lucky genetically (she is gorgeous after all) thinks? And since when does anyone in this country make their decisions based on what some FOREIGN CITIZEN thinks we should do?

I am so over these people, I cannot begin to tell you.

WHY I DIDN’T WATCH THE EMMY AWARDS

Of course the primary reason is simple: I get up at 5 a.m. on Monday mornings and staying up until midnight or so just isn’t on my list of things that I should ever do! Second, I am so tired of the fatuous, shallow self-congratulatory atmosphere of the entire show. I did watch long enough to see the luminous and immensely talented Jean Smart win her Emmy. Then the off switch was activated and my butt was in bed.

If the powers that be in television land want to know why people are turning them off more and more frequently, let me opine (it’s my blog – who’s going to stop me):

First, political commentary is not something I am willing to accept from high school dropouts who make their livings regurgitating the words of others. Other than genetic luck in the looks department and perhaps some minor playacting talent (an ability possessed to some degree in most small children), and the luck to be in the right place at the right time, what about the vast majority of them (there are occasional exceptions, of course) would commend them to me as political sages? You’ve got it – not a doggone thing. I am intelligent enough, educated enough and old enough to make up my own mind and your sanctimonious preaching is offensive as hell. Just STFU you brainless twits!

Second, the Emmy awards shows have become ponderous and entirely too lengthy. I confess to using my DVR last night to record the show, but only because I was curious to see Josh Groban’s justifiably anticipated medley of 60 years of theme songs – and since I watched that at 5 a.m. this morning, I felt secure in deleting the rest of the recording.

Finally, what interests a great many of us is what the stars were wearing – and that will be answered quite thoroughly on the entertainment networks and on the internet over the next few days. From what I could see, Tina Fey was going in the right direction but wore a gown that didn’t fit properly (clearly too tight, hence the many horizontal wrinkles). I may be a tad shallow and fascinated by the gowns, but I’ll indulge my silliness in controlled doses, thank you very much.

Current gripe. ABC television launched something called SoapNet several years ago. It was supposed to be devoted to daytime television programming. Can I ask – why are we being bombarded with endless reruns of 90210, third-rate movies and a series called MVP which may be the most overhyped and underwhelming original series any network has ever produced. Meanwhile, shows that DO belong on SoapNet are cancelled – such as the delightfully amusing SoapTalk, One Day With and others. Look ABC, make up your minds. If the network is called SOAPnet – why isn’t it devoted to oh, I don’t know, DAYTIME DRAMAS? You are SO LAME. And then these brilliant programmers wonder why we don’t watch! Duh! And yes, I watch soaps! At least they never have reruns and those are some of the most talented people in the entertainment biz who - amazingly - manage for the most part to keep THEIR political opinions to themselves!

JOE BIDEN'S BIG MOUTH (AND NANCY PELOSI'S TOO)

If you read this article, you will see that Joe Biden's uncontrolled verbosity has gotten him into the kind of trouble that makes a Catholic go "Whoa! Gotta mend my ways!" - although whether it has had that effect on Rosary Joe and Botox Nancy is for them to know and between them and their own consciences.

What is important is that, due to the blatherings of Senator Biden, the Obama/Biden ticket is losing a significant portion of the Catholic vote. Which gives a small amount of credence to the idea being floated around the blogsphere that after the Vice Presidential debates (once again sparing Hillzilla from any actual necessity of saying what she thinks or means), Biden is going to resign from the ticket for "health reasons", to be replaced by Hillary. Since I would put nothing past the Clintons, I have about 5% belief in this rumor. I also think that it will be too little too late. Sarah Palin is so much more attractive a candidate than Hillary Rodham Clinton and such a breath of fresh air compared to the tired and rather shopworn shrillness of Mrs. Clinton that it will avail the Dem ticket nothing, particularly since to know Barack Hussein Obama for any length of time is to also know that there is "no there there" with this unqualified candidate.
WTF?

Let me get this straight. The nasty little shit who hacked into Sarah Palin's Yahoo account is probably the son of a Dem politician? Why do I not feel the slightest degree of surprise? This is precisely the climate of unhinged and permissive lunacy that is pervading the national conversation these days - mostly on the Left but we have a few serious nutbars over on the Right as well.

What part of "against the law" do these little smart alecks not understand? If they CAN do it, they think they have the RIGHT to do it? What kind of parents do these kids have? What kind of moral guidance have they received? Oh right, we're talking about kids raised by parents who traffic in moral equivalency.

Maybe the miracle is that more of these children of Dem legislators don't do this kind of nonsense!

####

The Dems, in an astounding display of cowardice and honesty, have announced that they don't have the slightest idea what to do about our economic rollercoaster (for which they are largely responsible having pushed the low income mortgage programs and the endless - and false - economic bad news over the past few years). Their solution? They're adjourning and scurrying home with their tails between their legs! What the . . . !

People - does this not tell you how completely unfit all of them are to serve us? Why do we re-elect these quisling morons?

Am I right in thinking that we ARE getting the government we deserve and suggesting that maybe, just maybe, we ought to start taking the November (and all subsequent) elections a little more seriously?

People, this nation is a freaking miracle and we treat it as though it is always going to be that way, regardless of how we abuse our good fortune in living here! Would your garden grow if you ignored it? No, unless of course you are planning to cultivate weeds. And that's just what we have and it's time to get out the Weed 'n Feed and clear away the rubble we've created by electing some people who give a damn about something other than their own self-aggrandizement. Or we could just continue to tolerate the mediocrities who walk the halls of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

I'm voting McCain/Palin and Gilmore (in Virginia). I would suggest that some serious thought is required by all of us about who we choose this November. This may be the year that, were it on the ballot, "none of the above" would win!

ANOTHER PILE OF MANURE - SHOVELED COURTESY OF CNN

September 16, 2008

From

Will race be the factor that keeps Obama from the White House? Race is arguably the biggest issue in this election, and it's one that nobody's talking about.

The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain couldn't be more well-defined. Obama wants to change Washington. McCain is a part of Washington and a part of the Bush legacy. Yet the polls remain close. Doesn't make sense…unless it's race.

Is this putz serious? He sees the ONLY difference between these two men as RACE? How about QUALIFIED vs. UNQUALIFIED? How about good judgment and none whatsoever? THIS is considered good JOURNALISM today? Yes, I know - using all caps is considered shouting in Internet etiquette. Whyinhell do you think I'm using them? CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS are not, amongst all of them, possessed of even one halfway decent journalist! Never mind their blatant anti-American bias. If the stakes weren't so high, they'd only be pathetic losers. But instead they are dangerous to our nation's security and honor and they frequently veer over into sedition and treason.

YES, I AM QUESTIONING THEIR PATRIOTISM.
THIS IS POLITICAL LOGIC I CAN REALLY SUPPORT

The perfect comeback to the Democrats constant barrage about McCain's age... Use this!!!

Much is made of McCain's age. Has anyone brought up the fact that Obama
smokes and both of his parents died at an early age. Plus Biden has had two
brain aneurysms which could have killed him. If they both died while in office
that would leave Nancy Pelosi as president. I can't think of a better
reason to vote for McCain & Palin.

SENATOR OBAMA’S EXCELLENT IRAQI ADVENTURE

Much has been made (by the Dems) of Senator Barack Hussein Obama’s recent trip to Europe which included a fairly brief stop in Iraq.

It has now come to light (see the N.Y. Post articles of Amir Taheri) that while he was in Baghdad, the good Senator violated the Logan Act quite egregiously by attempting to negotiate foreign policy adjustments with the Prime Minster of Iraq, even going so far as to suggest that the SENATE ought to be negotiating all future foreign policy vis-à-vis Iraq. Has this arrogant s.o.b. even READ the Constitution?

Congress doesn’t make foreign policy. Period. That is the President’s job and it was a violation of the Logan Act for Senator Obama to even get into these topics while he was on his self-aggrandizing visit to Iraq. Obama went behind the back of the United States President during wartime and asked another nation to DISREGARD the plans which were in place. Defy President Bush, he suggested.

THESE activities engaged in by Senator Obama constitute nothing less than treason. Do the drooling Dems even know that prior (responsible) lawmakers have put into place mechanisms for dealing with people (like John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and others) who think they have either the RIGHT or the ABILITY to deal with foreign leaders one-on-one, against the interests of their own country and in violation of the law? When will our Justice Department deal with this outrage? It’s time for Republicans to strap on a set and make it crystal clear that this shit has to stop. Trying to make nice with the Dems is now and always has been a fool's errand. It's time our good President stopped being such a nice guy and started showing them who is STILL running the show!

George W. Bush is STILL President of the United States and it’s time that he DEMAND the respect due both his service and his office. Unless he does, this crap is going to continue and THAT is harmful to our nation.

STOCK MARKET WOES AND OTHER ISSUES

Yesterday the stock market dropped 500+ points (although today shows signs of a rebound). And?

Here's the deal, as I see it. First, the "greed is good" attitude has been prevalent since 1997 or before and I don't think any government regulations could have stopped it. Clinton and Bush both were getting total credit for the orgy - but I honestly don't think either of them had a whole lot to do with it. I think free markets are cyclical. I also think that trying to "tamp down" those markets is a huge mistake. We have a free market economy. Was that real money lost? Yes, for some people. That's why it's called a gamble, folks! From my point of view, if I thought I had enough money to do it, I'd have my happy ass on the phone buying stock right now while it's lower!

Second, even while our economy was clicking along on all cylinders, the morons of the mainstream media were actively rooting for an economic downturn, to the point that they actually generated it. There are many reasons to detest the so-called mainstream media idiots - this is just another one of their many sins. Does anyone but me recognize that we STILL have not fulfilled the criteria for an actual recession, despite the fact that the news media has been proclaiming one to exist for over 5 years? Reality check, people!

Third, that pipsqueak Chicago pol's campaign is bringing out a new group of bumper stickers that basically say "you name the religion" for Obama. Folks, I am a Catholic. I have paid attention to Senator Obama's positions carefully before making any hard-and-fast decision about my choice in November. I will grant you I did the examination early on and made a lightning quick decision to support Senator McCain - but I DID give Obama's opinions - what he has allowed us to know of them - and his voting record some scrutiny. He is pro-abortion to the point that I think he would consider an abortion okay, even if it happened 12 seconds before the child's mother went into labor! Sorry, fella! That puts me right off you in perpetuity!

I am not what would traditionally be considered a values voter. I'm actually pretty tolerant. But killing the unborn isn't something about which I am ever going to be tolerant. It's murder to me, plain and simple. No equivocation or attempting to "nuance" my opinion (which has worked so well for Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden - just ask the total of 40 bishops that have condemned their stance).

I suspect I will not be the only Catholic offended to the core by amateur hour over at the Obama campaign. They seem determined to destroy themselves. I say we give them what they want!

UPDATE: Even "Nanny" Bloomberg seems to feel that Senator McCain's (and my) take on the current economic tremor is a correct one: Old Wall Street hand Mayor Bloomberg of New York, agreeing with McCain, helps the clueless Democrats and liberals out:
“I do agree that fundamentally America has an economy that is strong,” he said. “America’s great strength is its diversity, its hard work, its good financial statements, its broad capital markets, its enormous natural resources” and its work ethic, he said at an afternoon press conference devoted to reassuring New Yorkers that the city’s finances and its economy are intact.

“I’d rather play America’s hand than any other country,” he said. “Without problems? No.”

GUESS IT WON'T BE THIS YEAR EITHER, EH?!

Of course a miracle could happen. I don't think a national championship is in the cards for the Buckeyes. Also, I think Columbus, Ohio fans are unrealistic in their expectations of the Ohio State Buckeyes - and what idiot scheduled them against USC so early on anyway?

Nevertheless? GO BUCKS!!!!!!!

N – N – NANCY, GOODBYE?

Whether it’s the so-called “Palin Effect” or the American voters’ weariness of the ineffectual yet endlessly bloviating House of Representatives, the once certain continuation of the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives is now statistically not such a sure thing. Now there's a shocker for you! It certainly was to me.

In the latest USA Today/Gallup survey released today, among “registered” voters, the percentages are now 48% Dem/45% Republican. What is interesting to me is that the percentages shift much more in our favor when “likely” voters are polled. In those results, the trend is 50% leaning toward the Republicans and 45% leaning toward the Dem, with the balance undecided. If this trend continues – which is a big if – Republicans could regain control of the House of Representatives in November.

In an election year that was going to be the blitzkrieg of Democratic Panzers through Republican Poland – Senator Obama and his inept running mate seem to be snatching defeat out of almost certain victory, and dragging other Dems down the drain with them. So it behooves those of us who'd like to not hear Mrs. Pelosi's ignorant blatherings over the next couple of years to make every effort to support our local candidates in whatever manner possible. Now if you’ll excuse me, I also need to go write a check to the Cindy-Sheehan-For-Congress fundraiser. Must do my bit, doncha know!
Have a great weekend!

I AM AN AMERICAN

I am an American and when I ask a candidate for president to outline the specifics of his platform, I expect him to do so. I do not expect to be told that it is (a) too complicated to explain in a short while or (b) too complicated to explain to my little pea brain. Tell me the truth and tell it to me concisely and in a straightforward fashion. Trust me, I’ll understand you, despite my bitterness and strong attachment to my religion and my weapons. I expect you to be willing and able to defend your positions without screaming "racism" or "unfair", so long as the questions are asked in a reasonably respectful fashion. If you are too thin-skinned to deal with ME, one of your own countrymen, it is hideous to imagine how impossible you will find it to deal with Putin or Ahmadinejad! They don't give a flip for your sensitive feelings fella!

I am an American and I am offended to the very marrow of my being when any campaign apparatus treats an opposition candidate with disdain or any other kind of unfair or untrue rhetoric. Senator Obama and his surrogates need to knock it off and do it now. Governor Sarah Palin and her family are NOT your piñatas!

I am an American and I don’t really give a rat’s eardrum what Europe thinks of me or my nation. Next time some totalitarian lunatic invades your country, do us a favor and save your OWN asses for a change.

I am an American and, as such, a member of one of the most generous populations on earth. Experience a Tsunami? We’ll be there with relief for those most adversely affected. Having a hurricane? We’ll help you rebuild. Are you having an epidemic of some dread disease? We’ll get the vaccine right on over to you. Because you cannot budget your own resources, your population is starving to death? We’ll hop right on over with relief supplies. And when we’re in trouble due to a natural disaster, with few exceptions, we also know that none of you will return the favor. Here’s a thought – start dealing with your own shit and leave us alone.

I am an American and I know that this election is about whether or not our nation will be kept safe by our next Commander in Chief. I can see Senator John McCain keeping our nation safe. I can see Governor Sarah Palin keeping our nation safe. All I can see Senator Barack Hussein Obama doing is babbling on and on, hoping at some point his plethora of words will put the enemy to sleep. Here’s the deal: That doesn’t work, Bambi.

I am an American and I am voting for the McCain/Palin ticket in November. To do anything else would be suicidal and stupid!

THOSE WHO FORGET WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE BUILDINGS MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN!

We ask you in your goodness
to give eternal light and peace
to all who died here—
the heroic first-responders:
our fire fighters, police officers,
emergency service workers, and Port Authority personnel,
along with all the innocent men and women
who were victims of this tragedy
simply because their work or service
brought them here on September 11, 2001 …

Heal, too, the pain of still-grieving families
and all who lost loved ones in this tragedy.
Give them strength to continue their lives with courage and hope.

We are mindful as well
of those who suffered death, injury, and loss
on the same day at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Our hearts are one with theirs
as our prayer embraces their pain and suffering …

Turn to your way of love
those whose hearts and minds
are consumed with hatred …

Grant that those whose lives were spared
may live so that the lives lost here
may not have been lost in vain …

HOW GOING NEGATIVE WILL
IMPACT THE NEXT 2 MONTHS

In his column in National Review Online, Victor Davis Hanson opines as to the reasons why the McCain/Palin bounce is scaring the living daylights out of the Obama/Biden ticket.

Yes, calling Sarah Palin inexperienced serves also to point out that the top of the Obama/Biden ticket is far more inexperienced and in very significant areas. Yes, going negative brings out a side of Senator Obama that is far from attractive and that will also impact the voters’ view of him over the next 8 weeks.

More important, this kind of vicious rhetoric directed at Sarah Palin does not resonate in quite the same way that it did when it was directed at Senator Clinton. Let’s be very realistic. Mrs. Clinton is not attractive in a great many ways. She is not physically appealing and frequently looks as though she was “rode hard and put up wet” – which, I agree, shouldn’t be a criteria used to judge the content of her intellect or character. However, Mrs. Clinton is also only a mediocre public speaker with a frequently shrill and unpleasant speaking voice and she has, whether she deserves it or not, a reputation for being ruthless, unfeminine and downright nasty. Too many stories have surfaced regarding her disdain for the military and her absolutely indefensible treatment of her Secret Service agents during her husband’s presidency – and since – and her other rather unlovely utterances referring to a person’s religion or race.

This is not the case with the beautiful and yet down-to-earth Gov. Palin. Mrs. Palin has a lovely speaking voice and what she says is positive and interesting and frequently quite witty. In addition, she is happily married and the mother of five children and soon to be a grandmother. The vicious lies being spread by the Left about Sarah Palin are not only being perceived as exactly what they are by a great many voters, that calumny is also turning off voters.

Back in my “salad days” I was consulting on the campaign of a young man with good educational credentials and not a lot of real world experience who was running for a rinky-dink county office that had been held by the same woman for over 20 years. Our consistent and unremitting advice to our candidate was “she doesn’t exist” and we repeated that advice on an almost daily basis. Campaigning against HER was a no-win situation for our candidate. Campaigning on the basis of HIS plans and viewpoints was a much more intelligent route for him to take. No, he didn’t win the election for that rinky-dink office that year. However, four years later he DID win it because not only had he built name recognition, but he had also built good feelings in the minds of our county voters, both for his intelligence and for his public persona. Despite all the focus groups in the world, all the high tech nonsense being used in national political campaigns, what a presidential campaign ultimately comes down to is PEOPLE and how they feel about the candidates.

Senator Obama is, more and more, not being perceived by the voting public as someone they’d want to sit down and have a cup of coffee with. He is arrogant, distant and exudes an air of entitlement that is relentlessly unattractive. His wife is perceived by many women as a purely evil and nasty bitch. Contrast that with the beautiful and seemingly approachable Governor of Alaska and her charming and supportive husband Todd – and the Obama campaign is in serious, if not terminal, trouble. And lucky for Senator McCain, Senator Obama is most unlikely to take my advice and will continue the almost criminally stupid negative attacks by his campaign and his surrogates (does the Obama campaign seriously think we’re so stupid as to believe he is not involved in some of the smears being circulated). And, during the Vice Presidential debates, should Senator Biden revert to his normal practice and either bloviate endlessly or, worse yet, set verbal minefields that are largely irrelevant for Governor Palin, they will be seen clearly by the American public as something we, as a nation, tend to dislike intensely: mean-spirited bullies.

GRANTED THERE ARE MORE SERIOUS MATTERS

TO CONCERN US

But why, oh why, would anyone show up at an important event like the VMAs with at least 1 inch of dark roots showing?

If someone doesn’t care enough about themselves to be well groomed for an important event, doesn’t this indicate that I shouldn’t care about them either?

I’m just saying.

JONAH GOLDBERG ON SARAH PALIN

"She was put on this earth to do two things: kill caribou and kick butt. She's all out of caribou."

The fact of the matter is that I said all the things that I wanted to say about Gov. Palin yesterday. There aren't sufficient superlatives to describe what a total return to sanity Governor Sarah Palin represents to those of us who are "of a certain age" and think perhaps this country is sliding downhill toward hell in a handbasket! The good Governor makes me believe in this country's return to sanity after the miserably contentious past two decades, just as John McCain makes me believe that he will deal with those Islamofascist punks in no uncertain terms. I have always been PROUD of my country, now I'm just reinvigorated!

JUST FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES!

HAS THE MSM FINALLY STRIPPED ITS COLLECTIVE GEARS?

Given the unhinged and vile rhetoric emerging from the left-most members of the MSM and the Democratic Party, it’s quite credible to believe. The question is why?

Throughout 2007 and up to and including the DNC which was climaxed by Senator Barack Hussein Obama’s truly forgettable and pedestrian acceptance speech (for all the hype, it was just same-old, same-old and hardly lived up to his vaunted (and perhaps undeserved?) reputation as a public speaker, the accepted meme from the MSM was that whoever the Dems nominated was a “sure thing” for the November election because, in their collected "wisdom", no Republican was electable. Of course this assumed a number of (erroneous) facts to be on the table, including that the American public was as credulous and easily bamboozled as the MSM.

Then this past Friday, in what I consider to be a decision fueled by pure genius, Senator John McCain, the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party, unveiled Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as his vice-presidential running mate. In one masterstroke, Senator McCain removed concerns about his age, his conservatism and his executive ability by selecting a running mate who was young (44), conservative (and pro-life) and who possessed strong executive experience. Add to that the fact that she lives in a state bordered by TWO foreign nations (Canada and Russia), and you’ve added some foreign policy experience as well.

Are there words to express how uninterested I am in the fact that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant? That’s a personal and family matter and shouldn’t be bandied about in the press in the way that it is being done. Would the MSM have done this to Chelsea Clinton? Hell no! When EVEN Senator Obama is saying it’s out of line (which seems not to have deterred the hate-mongering in the slightest), you know you’ve gone way too far!

The screaming Feminist Mafia doesn’t like her because she is pro-life. Excuse me – wasn’t the feminist movement originally about choice? Women were to be free to choose to be whatever their abilities and inclinations led them to be. And if a woman with 5 children and a supportive husband chooses to be part of the Republican ticket, how completely disingenuous to criticize her for not staying home like a good “little woman”! And let’s just be very realistic here – it isn’t like Governor Palin, as Vice President, will be required (or expected) to get dinner on the table and do the family’s no doubt considerable laundry. Todd Palin seems quite capable (and willing) to help and the Vice President of the United States does have some fairly substantial resources at her disposal.

So what if her daughter is 5 months pregnant? She is scheduled to marry the father of her child and again – who gives a rat’s eardrum? From my standpoint, at least she didn’t MURDER her unborn child.

I don’t give a damn if Todd Palin had a DUI over 20 years ago. At least he didn’t drive off a bridge and leave an innocent young woman to DROWN!

Oh, yeah. And that juicy tabloid bit about “under investigation for firing her former brother-in-law”?? Yeah she did. He was a drunken wife-beater who threatened to shoot Sarah Palin's father in the head. And then to come after HER and her family. That pretty much disqualified him from supervising policemen in her estimation. I’d have tied a steak to his sorry ass and sent him running across a frozen tundra in his long johns – but why poison the wolves!

What’s really causing all this furor is that suddenly the Republican ticket looks perfectly poised to win the election in November. This snatches victory from the Messiah and his verbose running mate Plugs. Further, it positions a future Vice President Palin to succeed John McCain should he (God forbid) die in office or choose to serve only one term. In either case, Hillary Rodham Clinton will be sidetracked from achieving her life’s ambition to be the first female POTUS. And that’s part of what all the venomous howling is all about. They felt ENTITLED don't you know?

The balance of the shrieking is generated by the completely unhinged reaction to the prospect of this nation continuing to honor its own laws and honorable traditions, rather than succumbing to socialism or, worse, islamofascism.

Screw 'em if they can't take a dose of political reality like grown-ups!

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid was not happy with Sen. Joe Lieberman’s speech before the Republican National Convention Tuesday night.

"Senator Reid was very disappointed in Senator Lieberman’s speech tonight,” Reid spokesman, Jim Manley, told CNN. “As the American people have made very clear, the last thing this country needs is another four years of the same old failed Bush-McCain policies of the past."

In particular, the Nevada Democrat took issue with Lieberman’s assertion that Obama has not crossed party lines.

Lieberman’s statement that “Senator Barack Obama is a gifted and eloquent young… but, my friends, eloquence is no substitute for a record, not in these tough times for America” also drew Reid’s ire, Manley said.

One thing I can say is: Making you unhappy was the unintended benefit of Senator Lieberman's fine speech last night! We intend to make you (and your fellow travelers) MISERABLE come November!

Daily Kos Bloggers, Have You No Shame? Or Do You Lie So Loudly And So Often That You Don’t Even Know You Are Doing It Anymore?

The kooks of the Internet are doing their very best to smear and denigrate Gov. Sarah Palin on any grounds at which they can grasp, regardless of how unjust, untrue and viciously hurtful those grounds might be.

Yes, Gov. Palin’s 17-year-old daughter is five months pregnant. Also yes, she is going to marry the father of her child. In the normally accepted sense, he is not her “baby-daddy”. In another sense, you loons found this verbiage offensive as hell when someone referred to Barack Obama as Michelle’s “baby daddy” – don’t you incredible morons believe in the sauce being the same for the goose as for the gander?

According to Rick Moran (American Thinker column):

“McCain has done his best to run interference for his running mate while Barack Obama has made the statement that the American people should understand that what is going on in the Palin household is private and should have no impact on the presidential race. While this is welcome from Mr. Obama, perhaps a statement asking his supporters to cease and desist in their rancid smear attacks on Palin might also have been a nice gesture.” (emphasis added)

"Rancid smear attacks" is an extraordinarily apt description of what is going on. Why operate from a base of common sense or common decency when you can be a pinheaded sociopath smearing a young girl who hasn’t done a damned thing to you? Or are you just terrifically pissed off because neither Governor Palin nor her daughter are the slightest bit interested in murdering this infant, any more than Sarah Palin and her husband were interested in murdering Trig when he was in utero?

Bear one thing in mind, Kos Kids. WHEN Senator Obama loses because of your unbelievably unhinged behavior and thought processes, you will have nobody on earth to blame but yourselves. Americans don’t like the kinds of tactics being employed by your crew, any more than they approve of the smears promulgated by your “master”, the psychopath (my opinion) who is directly responsible for all this spewing of hatred and lies, George Soros. That he is of Hungarian ancestry is a constant source of shame to me, since I too am of Hungarian ancestry. Of course, my beautiful and brilliant Hungarian mother always told me to avoid Hungarian men like the plague. Now I know why!
