It appears that the ACA website, aka Obamacare, is still not working as it should. They are now very proud of the fact that 50,000 people can be on it at one time. How many people are on Facebook or Twitter at the same time? Just curious.

It's time to admit that the ACA is an unworkable, disastrous screwup, Mr. President, and consult with PROFESSIONALS who can help you undo the damage you have wrought on the American citizens you are supposed to Preserve, Protect and Defend.

And while you're at it - quit firing high ranking military officers, you bozo. You will never, ever get the majority of American military to turn on the American citizenry and if you try to do it, you'll face the same challenge that prevented the Japanese from invading the American mainland during WWII - we outgun you!

Since we know the Democrats will attempt to vote multiple times, we must make sure that we vote our one legal time and ensure that the wishes of the actual electorate prevails. And I would urge you to remember that a vote for Sarvis is, in reality, a vote for McAuliffe.

Even the smartest of people have, over time, started to believe some of the outright lies and deceptions perpetrated by the Leftwing on Ken Cucinelli and for that reason, if no other, I will be voting for him.

Kanye West opines that his immorata, Kim Kardashina (famous for having NO talent and using the word "like" 43 times per sentence) should be on the cover of Vogue. Huh? With that deformed figure? He further opines that they are, as a couple, more influential than the President and First Lady. Now THAT would be a public service for sure. He and his baby's mother would likely be less destructive of this country!

Yes, indeed, we are experiencing creeping socialism in this country and yes, our president, elected by the least educated and least intelligent of our voters, is a complete flop and yes, the Obamacare law and rollout are both disasters, but let's discuss the REALLY important news....Chris Brown is in trouble again, Kim Kardashian is engaged (again) and Snooki got tossed from Dancing with the Stars last night (which actually is a shame because she was very good).

Do you see where I'm going with this? We need to prioritize, hit our knees in prayer for our country and our way of life (which is, without doubt endangered) and trust in G-d that all will be well!

Meanwhile, vote for Bill Engvall and Leah Remini!

Whoopi Goldeberg is a horse's patoot!

On yesterday's edition of The View, she opined that "at last" the Catholic Church had a Pope who was relevant - or words to that effect. She apparently is of the opinion that the Pope can or should radically change the basic rules of the Catholic faith to suit her beliefs.

Sorry honey. It doesn't work that way and never will. That's not how the Catholic Church has survived for 2,000 years.

Further, would you be willing to express similar opinions regarding the Muslim faith? I'm just saying. Or are you fond of having your head attached to your shoulders, a happy situation that might change should you offend Muslims?

She is a snarky bitch as well!

Obama is being told she must be fired and here is her response:
“My goal is to actually get the website up and running,” she told reporters. “The majority of people calling for me to resign I would say are people who I don’t work for and who do not want this program to work in the first place. I have had frequent conversations with the president and I have committed to him that my role is to get the program up and running and we will do just that.”

Who does this ignorant yahoo think pays her salary? George Soros? The Saudi royal family?

Saturday, October 19, 2013

In his never-ending campaign to destroy America (WHY? Because he's INSANE), George Soros appears to be planning to stage some sort of anti-immigration "fly-in" and blame it on Conservative Americans. Sorry George - you've been caught in advance and now it simply will not work.

Why do we permit someone of his ilk to continue to screw around with our nation's sovereignty and overall fiscal and moral health? He's already financed the foisting of the execrable Obama on us, with the help of his bought and paid for useful idiots, and now this.

I am half Hungarian and my Hungarian mother frequently instructed me when I was growing up that I should avoid, like the plague, Hungarian men. She felt they were weak and useless in the main. Mom, you were right! Particularly this Hungarian Jew who, as a boy, assisted in the imprisonment and murder of his fellow Hungarian Jews.

George - take your freakiung self-loathing somewhere else and screw around with China or some other truly evil nation and leave us the hell alone!

And fie onto anyone who tries to say differently.

What is a member of the Tea Party? It's someone who believes our Constitution should be the law of the land, without the sins of omission committed by this and other presidents!

Rather than stand on principle and voice their beliefs and morality in a bold, convincing fashion (as did Senator Ted Cruz), they've caved in to the Democrats in a bid to reverse the perceived dislike foisted upon them by the Democratic-controlled media's false narrative.

I'm registering as a Libertarian next time around. Screw the Republicans who have nothing but contempt for those who put them in office.

And most especially, screw John McCain and Mitch McConnell - a pair of hypocritical weaklings with zero realization of their responsibilities to those who put them in office.

Monday, October 14, 2013

Somehow I think the "sky is falling" rhetoric is no longer working for the Petulant Prancing Pipsqueak in the White House!

If he wants to solve this "crisis", all he has to do is talk to the Republicans and/or instruct that dessicated creep Harry Reid to actually have a conversation with the House of Representatives as he is required by law to do!

Harry Reid hasn't passed a budget since 2004 - even when the House and Senate were the Democratic MAJORITY in both houses! What's up with that nonsense?

Here's another question - if they don't have the money to keep OPEN AIR monuments open, how is it that they have the money to keep putting up the barricades?

And if 90% of EPA employees are "non-essential" - WHY are they there in the first damned place? Could this be part of our problem?

I'm sick of the posturing, the incendiary language and the pettiness from both parties. Here's MY enemies list: John McCain, Mitch McConnell, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Paul Ryan.

It is long past time for these idiots to settle down, put their ideological differences aside and do their damned jobs!

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that the left is absolutely terrified of the people of this country. They know, they cannot help but know, that we are far stronger than they are and that they should not awaken the sleeping giant of American exceptionalism.

Ergo, they are attempting to destroy our constitutional republic very, very quickly, BEFORE we are sufficiently angry to challenge them. They are terrified that we'll catch on and prevent their takeover.

Guess they reckoned without social media. These tactics might have worked in Nazi Germany or Russia, but that was without the 24-hour news cycle (which is occasionally actually doing its job - not all the time, not even most of the time, but just fractionally enough to get the word out), and the instant communication of the internet which is sinking them. None of their lies survive for long and even some of their most reliable dupes are starting to catch on - just as Jon Stewart did with Sebelius.

Their end is near if we just continue to apply starch to the spines of the House in D.C.!

The incendiary language certainly does make the President's call for "CIVILITY" look farcical. So why is he using it?

The U.S. House of Representatives has, constitutionally, the absolute power of the purse. What part of this does our former "constitutional law" professor (instructor, actually) not understand? And is he so committed to the destruction of our way of life that he is willing to reveal himself as thin-skinned, petty and spiteful to do it?

Actually, I believe that Barack Hussein Obama knows exactly what he is doing. He is attempting to completely rework the entire way of life of this nation and he is willing to dare anything to do it - unless of course it means giving up his lavish lifestyle.

I truly think he believes that if he is just intransigent enough for long enough, the true owners of this nation - the people of America - will cave in and just go along to get along. He doesn't really know the American people, does he?

I am so sick of hearing Tea Party Republicans used as a perjorative term. And of course, the real reason the left heaps such scorn and condemnation upon the Tea Party is that it scares the living hell out of them - as it should. In their heart of hearts they know without question that they can only go so far and then we will rise up, as a mighty and FREE people and smack their sorry asses down.

I suspect the time is nigh. We'll see what the truckers invasion accomplishes!

Last night, the incandescent Julianne Hough joined the judge's panel and was both tough and fair. Good on her and welcome back, dear girl.

As to the dancing, everyone either did a good job or had a lot of fun, sometimes both. As always, Bill Engvall continues to delight and both Amber Riley and Leah Remini are far better than they think they are. Nicole Polizzi (Snooki) is a tiny bundle of energy and charm and I am, to my surprise, enjoying her quite a lot. Likewise Jack Osbourne, another contestant who is better than he believes he is.

Valerie Harper was eliminated last night. Her dancing is far, far below the standard set by the other participants, and although my heart applauds her effort, my head says, if someone far better was cut in order to keep her, it would make the show a travesty. Aside from the rest, I noticed as the weeks have progressed that the physical stress is wearing on her very badly. She is, after all, no spring chicken and with all the charm and determination in the world, that is sometimes difficult to overcome - unless you're Cloris Leachman.

So the show continues to be enjoyable and you'll notice the two "professional" dancers I am not praising. Yes Corbin and Elizabeth are very good but I do not believe for an instant that either of them belongs there or deserves to win. Keep the playing field level and let the Bill Engvall's of the world shine based on their efforts and achievements.

Terry McAuliffe, the ultimate carpetbagger, doesn't give a rat's eardrum about you!

Despite the fact that Colorado voters sent a clear message (in a state not noted for its conservative views) that they have no love for liberals' continuing intention to violate and attempt to circumvent the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, Mr. McAuliffe has pledged to enact Colorado-style gun restrictions in the Commonwealth.

Isn't this like saying, "I don't care what voters want!" ?!?

It's your choice, Virginia: Vote!

UPDATE: Just saw a commercial by Mark Warner stumping for McAuliffe. Who elected this creature? He sounds like he's spent far too many hours in smoke-filled rooms making shady deals and generally screwing over the voters. I'm glad Newt Gingrich is considering running against him next year! Can you imagine the debates? Can you imagine the look on Harry Reid's dessicated old undertaker face when he has to face Newt in the Senate? More to the point, can you imagine the floor debates in the Senate and the knots into which the liberal asshats can be tied?

As reported in the Christian Science Monitor, this is what our so-called president said today:

Speaking before the United Nations General Assembly, President Obama justified the NSA’s spying programs, arguing they have helped to stabilize the world in the five years since he took office.

“As a result of this work, and the cooperation of its allies and partners, the world is more stable than it was five years ago,” the president said on Tuesday morning.
Words totally fail me! The man is such an arrogant putz that it boggles the mind and he apparently hasn't noticed the Malls in Kenya being destroyed (along with the numerous deaths), the wholesale killing of Christians in Pakistan, the on-going genocide in Syria, the Egyptian upheaval and numerous other dangerous activities of dangerous nations like Iran and North Korea.

It becomes ever more apparent that we have a sociopathic nincompoop in the White House! He needs to be legally and properly removed from office, sooner rather than later. Period. End of discussion.

When the lineup was announced a few weeks ago, I had my doubts that this season was going to be anywhere near as entertaining as last season, given the fact that I had never heard of most of the cast.

Well, I'm here to admit I was wrong.

First of all, let's dispose of a single complaint..... some of the dancers (Elizabeth, Corbin) are a tad too accomplished for this early in the season, causing me to believe that they've perhaps(?) danced before!

What the hell Bill Nye (the Science Guy) is even doing there is anyone's guess. He is an appallingly bad dancer and should be sent home, Instead, some more deserving contestant will eventually be eliminated.

Valerie Harper is courageous and I understand why she's doing it, and I must say she looks good. I doubt she's going to get anywhere near the end, but I applaud her effort.

Amber Riley is superb, Leah Remini is on a mission (which, again, I applaud), Nicole Polizzi (Snookie) is surprisingly good, Jack Osbourne is far better than he thinks he is, and what can I say ---- I'm voting for Engvall. He's a delight and entertaining as hell, which is what the show is all about.

So give the show a look see. They've redesigned the set, tightened the production, the judges are less obnoxious and Tom Bergeron is the humorous oil that keeps the entire two-hour, once-per=week format moving!

The two watchable song and dance sequences aside, was last night's Emmy show the absolute worst you've ever seen?

Neil Patrick Harris, a thoroughly gifted performer, did his best with bad material, bloated production values and a lengthy show that literally put people in my household to sleep, but he just wasn't enough to save the show.

IT needs to be asked, why cannot television professionals put on a broadcast of their own industry awards? And why were awards like the guest actor/actress awards relegated to a special ceremony? Why not keep those living recipients in the main show and ditch the special "In Memoriam" bits - especially the one pandering to youth culture such as the one for Cory Monteith? Robin Williams' tribute to Jonathan Winters was pretty nice, but even so, incomprehensible to some.

And would someone please feed those women at the show a sandwich? I have not seen so many bones since the last office picnic's fried chicken was decimated!

It's just my opinion. I could be wrong. But I'm not!

News outlets are dominating the airwaves again today - all stations reporting and all repeating over and over again the same not necessarily accurate information, tedium personified and making real breaking news somehow uninteresting - that there is one, maybe two, shooters at the Navy Yard and that perhaps 4 are dead, 8 wounded, or maybe more or maybe less.

Here's a thought...I know it's the 24-hour news cycle, but how about y'all wait until you actually KNOW something instead of endless, frequently baseless speculation (and yes, you, Fox News Network are just as guilty as everyone else). For the people in this area who have friends or relatives working at that facility, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

If Gibbs were real, this shit would have been wrapped up long ago, the perp(s) subdued and civilian/military loss of life minimized. I'm just saying - it's a damned shame fantasy doesn't even come CLOSE to reality, mores the pity.

UPDATE: So in the end, after all the hyperbole and false information spewed by the various and sundry news purveyors, we end up with 12 victims of a murderous and now-deceased shooter. And, predictably, the anti-gun lobby is in full, baying cry, despite the fact that D.C. has one of the toughest, most repressive gun control climates in the nation. "Shelter in place" makes me think more along the lines of "sitting ducks" where instead perhaps there ought to be people in place who can "lock and load" in these sorts of situations. Maybe then fewer people would have lost their lives or been injured so grievously, including the one policeman who is in danger of losing his legs!

UNLESS you are able to change the Constitution (which Urkel is definitely trying to do - or he just ignores it), gun ownership is a guaranteed right and I somehow doubt that, outside the effete coastal areas of this nation, a Constitutional Amendment banning guns will go the way of the dodo!

According to the latest, not necessarily verified, intel Iran has given the green light to its minions around the region to attack American interests, specifically and particularly, the American Embassy in Baghdad. Then Iran starts lobbing bombs at Israel (their REAL target) and Israel, true to form - and as they should - retaliates. Using a nuke is not out of the question given the historic antipathy of Iran towards Israel, as well as Israel's long-held mantra of "Never Again". Then the various Saudi-sponsored bad actors start stirring up a shitstorm throughout the region and here we go again!

Given the predictions that Pope Francis (who has already sternly admonished Urkel to stand down) is the LAST Pope, as well as other predictions of the like, is this the beginning of the end times? All because Urkel in the White House is trying to show his nonexistent cojones!

REALLY folks? Do we really have to do this? Do we really want to once again stir up the laws of unintended consequences?

Have you completely lost your minds?

There is NO UPSIDE to bombing Syria and only the possibility of further attempts to destroy us on our own soil.

These people are not like us. They don't accept the norms of civilized society. In reality, they are still mired in the 7th Century and no amount of hoping and wishing on your part or ours will pull them out of that mindset because they LIKE THEIR LIVES the way they are - horrible as they are!

They don't think. They FEEL, they REACT to stimuli the way infants do. There is no reasoning with their primitive idiocy and trying to do so, over and over and over again, is the height of insanity!

AND A FINAL NOTE: The fraudulent so-called president is claiming that HE didn't draw a red line but rather than CONGRESS did.....preparing for failure you miserable excuse for a human being?

Sunday, September 01, 2013

So tell him NO in loud and unequivocal terms. This p.o.s. would love to start WWIII (and no doubt blame it on Bush or Republicans or anyone but his own moronic self) but we cannot permit him to embroil us in a no win situation.

We're supposed to bomb Syria as a punishment for Syrians bombing other Syrians? How stupid does he think we are? Where's the upside for our country? I can see none. Just more deficits and American lives at risk.

Rep. Rob Wittman, I know I don't have to tell you to say no. I know you will, but just as a reminder, NO.

SPECIAL NOTE: I have disagreed with other presidents in the past. I am, after all, 71 years old. I have never used the language I've used here and elsewhere to describe any other president, not even the execrable James Earl Carter, Jr., whom I detest. That gives you some idea of how completely useless I consider the current occupant of the White House!

John Kerry used a picture from 2003 (Iraq) to justify bombing Syria today - assuming that nobody would know the difference! This is how little regard for the American people this Administration has and, when you think about it, if those were victims of chemical weapons (in Iraq, mind you) then why do they keep saying the Bush 43 lied? It's all just so impossibly despicable!

Someone elected these buffoons and evildoers and someone now needs to impeach their asses!

Apparently their view is that DEMOCRATS are responsible for all civil rights advances. Guess again cretins!

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

That is a description by the late, much-lamented Richard Pryor to describe a teenage boy and how irrational they can be. It applies pretty succinctly to our faux-president, Barack Hussein Obama.

He has used rhetoric throughout his career to advance himself, without ever having to prove there is a spine behind all the big talk. And, in the way of all who are essentially cowards, his talk has been WAY big! Now he is in the position where he has to live up to his rhetoric or fold his hand and slink away.

How many Americans must die to prove you have cojones Mr. Obama? And what strategic interest of the U.S. does Syria represent?

The answer should be none and none.

Fold your hand and slink away, Mr. Obama.

And a note to those who are running their mouths while Congress is not in session - return to Washington, D.C., call Congress into session and tell this sniveling wimp he doesn't have authorization to do what he is clearly planning to do. Who will it help? The Syrian people? No way. The Muslim Brotherhood? Possibly. Himself? Nope.

Why don't you just pack it in and resign from office you worthless p.o.s.? You aren't at all presidential and your actions are threatening the security and safety of the American people and our nation - both of whom, by the way, you swore to preserve, protect and defend!

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A federal judge Monday threw out race discrimination claims by a former Savannah restaurant manager whose lawsuit against Paula Deen has already cost the celebrity cook a valuable chunk of her culinary empire.

Lisa Jackson sued Deen and her brother, Bubba Hiers, last year saying she suffered from sexual harassment and racially offensive talk and employment practices that were unfair to black workers during her five years as a manager of Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House. Deen is co-owner of the restaurant, which is primarily run by her brother.

I can't wait to see the toadying that begins when the formerly judgmental and bullying idiots like Food Network and Wal-Mart and all the other people who have been piling on this woman for months start to slowly but surely try to creep back into business with all of them! If she's smart, she'll tell them all to go screw themselves.

Saturday, August 10, 2013

Paula Deen has been invited to participate in "Dancing with the Stars" this January and has decliend. Hey, Paula, why not do it and show everyone who has dared to bully you just what a class act you really are? I'd vote for you every week, and I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one.

Go for it, baby!

I didn't vote for him since I'm not a fan of Kool-Aid but apparently enough of you did (or the vote-stealing machine is way better than I had previously thought) so that we're stuck with this incompetent, ignorant administration for another 3 years!

I am 71 years old and in all my lengthy lifespan, I have never seen a president given so many free passes as this asshat who is currrently vacationing on Martha's Vineyard in a $7.5 million house, while we struggle to put food on our tables.

So if the s.o.b. is impeached, as he fully deserves to be, what then? Joe Biden? Give me a break! They both deserve simultaneous removal since - and I never thought I'd say this - Obama is exactly as stupid as Biden! Anyone who thinks that we have 57 states and that Jacksonville, Florida is on the GULF COAST is a complete moron - no ifs, and, or maybes! Had Romney or Sarah Palin ever said something so ignorant, they'd have been crucified by the lying, sack of shit media. But when their darling Obama does it, they just merrily ignore the gaffes and continue in their fiction that he's the smartest man in the room.

Here's a thought, let's PROVE once and for all that himself was born in Kenya! What would happen then? All the bills he signed into law, every executive order, every action taken by the pretender would be nullified in full. That means Obamacare goes away, as well as a lot of other truly odious crap this administration has foisted on us over its lifespan.

The next question is - is Biden still properly elected. I'm no constituional scholar, so I hesitate to hazard a guess. But the lies, evasions and sweet cuddles given by the media have got to stop! Obama needs to be out of office, sooner rather than later, and in the very most LEGAL AND CONSTITUTIONAL MANNER.

It's worth the money ($65 ticket)(Box Office 540/370-4300) and the time (if you're not IN Fredericksburg) to come see this production. It is - in one word - MAGNIFICENT!

The voices are beyond first rate, the staging is exceptional and the food isn't bad either! David Michael Felty is Jean Valjean and he is nothing short of magnificent! Actually there isn't a marginal or bad performance onstage.

It's easily reached off I-95 at the Route 17 (Warrenton) exit and is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

And it's running to November 24, 2013!

Thursday, August 01, 2013

I've watched and watched the dishonest and outrageously deceptive ads being run against gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli by the Virginia DNC.

First off, there's an elderly woman whining that Ken Cuccinelli doesn't approve of Social Security and Medicare benefits. ON WHAT PLANET DOES THE GOVERNOR OF A STATE HAVE A DAMNED THING TO DO WITH THIS FEDERAL MATTER?

Then there is the ad bloviating about the fact that Ken doesn't like Roe v. Wade. So the hell what? A state's governor has no influence over what is again, a Federal mandate!

The campaign is so disingenuous that it is an insult to every citizen of Virginia - even the Democratic voters! It's high time that we slap these dishonest hucksters upside the head by electing Ken Cuccinelli as Virginia's next governor!

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

I know I left out one of the prime movers in the Paula Deen debacle - The Food Network - but they're such a bunch of weinie-brained losers they wouldn't even understand this post. Since they do not understand that because of Paula Deen they had a BLACK (Pat and Gina Neeley) couple doing one of their shows - then they're truly morons and not worth any effort. Self-destruction is a possibility!

Here's the deal. You other folks bully and castigate and generally pile on a 66-year old woman who used a WORD that is considered incorrect - despite the fact that, like Ms. Deen, you've probably used it in your past lives and without the provocation of a black man holding a gun to your head in a bank where you work. We still hsve freedom of expression in this country - even when the freedom is used to say unpleasant things. So I'm going to be even more politically incorrect and suggest that - for the foreseeable and undetermined future - I'm going to make the effort to avoid your various places of business. There is nothing whatsoever that I need that I cannot get somewhere else - probably in one of the "mom and pop" stores that have struggled so mightily since the heydey of the megastore has dawned.

My thinking is that I can remove MY dollars from your companies and, should other feel like-minded, maybe you all will pay as you deserve to pay for the bullying of a 66-year old woman by a bunch of hypocritical lemmings!

Thursday, July 04, 2013

Probably not, nor should it. That is not who we are. But the very thought of what's happening in Egypt has to be making a certain faux-president's blood run cold!

Happy Independence Day and happy birthday to the world's most noble experiment - the United States of America!

The woman did not kill anyone. Neither did she take $1.5 million to perform for the president of one of the most repressive regimes in the world (Jennifer Lopez), nor is she a six-times-in-rehab starlet (Lindsay Lohan). She used a word that is by any measure offensive and no longer used but it's only a WORD people and I don't believe there was anything more than thoughtlessness involved.

The piling on that is happening to this 66-year-old woman is more offensive than the word she has admitted to having used in the past (and who among us can truly claim to be innocent in that regard - back in the day when we were stupid and thoughtless). Last time I looked we still have freedom of expression in this country and the calumny being heaped on this woman is excessive, unwarranted and thoroughly despicable.

Her cookbook publishers are so eager to be politically correct that they're inviting legal action against themselves, not to mention severe financial losses (which their stockholders must LOVE) since the book they've decided not to publish was probably already being printed and since it was already ordered to an extent that it was on the best-seller list pre-publication.

I think this country has lost its mind.

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

When they persisted in questioning Him, He stood up and said to them, "The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her." John 8:7

The Paula Deen "scandal" has now been blown entirely out of proportion, the fuel being thrown on the fire by such paragons of civil speech as Joy Behar, a woman who, if hate speech and offensive language were a measure of worthiness of employment, she'd have been on the bread lines long ago. For her to cast aspersions on anything, real or imagined, that Paula Deen has said in the past is the height of sanctimonious hypocrisy. Likewise other such as the ladies of the talk, Wendy Williams, and all the rest. The only "talk show" folks who haven't piled on were the people at The Chew - all of whom have know Paula Deen and her family for years.

Now let's talk about The Food Network which has profited handsomely over the years from Paula Deen's various successful shows. Really? Really? All y'all are a bunch of lily-livered weinies! And what about those upstanding, courageous folks (not) at Smithfield? When they were involved in a contentious lawsuit and the other side urged Ms. Deen to drop her contract with Smithfield, she refused to do so. Pity that loyalty wasn't returned.

And of course it's bad enough these hypocritical yahoos are dumping on her for language she may have used back in the distant day, they're also bringing up the fact that she kept the news of her diabetes diagnosis to herself. Well hell, I'd keep it to myself as well. That diagnosis is a world shaker! If she chose to take some private time to make her peace with a life-changing medical situation, that's HER business folks.

I think we've all lost our minds in this country. We think that every little thing about every celebrity should be revealed to us as soon as we demand it. What hogwash!

2013 Daytime Emmy Awards on HLN

To say that this show was a disjointed, appalling and utterly amateurish mess would be gross understatement on my part!

First of all, the show was hosted by three news people - all of whom tried to be amusing with virtually no success. And whyinhell was the show on HLN anyway? What daytime shows does anyone watch THERE? And whose brilliant idea was it to position a red couch on far side of the stage where various uncomfortable people sat to interview people who had just won a Daytime Emmy, people who were in no condition to be coherent! Giada DiLaurentis was wearing a dress on that couch when she interviewed Scott Clifton and Billy Miller after their joint win that left no doubt in anyone's mind that she is a well-endowed woman. And someone needs to tell Rachael Ray that she should not be displaying HER cleavage - it's minimal and it's seriously unattractive.

The production values were disjointed and sloppy - even to the point that when Aisha Tyler opened up the envelope for one award, the card for the wrong category was contained in it! Dear merciful heavens!

It's pretty doggone sad when the "In Memoriam" segment, which was accompanied by something in Italian sung by Il Volo was so poorly planned that the cameraman couldn't figure out that he should be concentrating on the pictures and names of the recently deceased persons, and NOT on the three singers! Bush league, and that's being kind to them.

All in all, it continues to amaze me that people whose job it is to produce television on a regular basis can do such a disgraceful job of producing their own awards shows!

Shame on you!

My father, Gilbert Joseph Miller (1913-1984) was one of six brilliant - and slightly peculiar - children. Guess that goes a long way toward explaining ME!

To give you an idea of my father's somewhat eccentric ways, there is this: In 1958 I bought a house. My father, an electrical engineer, was dissatisfied with the electrical situation in this brand new domicile. Accordingly, he had two additional electrical lines run into the house - a 220 and another 120. He had no intention of ever seeing a short circuit develop on his watch!

Then he proceeded to rewire this just-built house to HIS requirements (and as I have come to realize, he was way ahead of his time in this) with me helping him in his endeavors. This is how I came to be sitting on a stepladder, in my own basement, one Saturday morning, holding two wires. My father casually walked by and commented "It would probably be a good idea if you didn't let those two wires touch. I haven't turned off the main!"

For this and all the many other examples of your humor, your loving care for me and your frequently dry and hilarious commentary on the world through your eyes, I love you and miss you and value your place in my life.

The show is terrific, don't get me wrong. But a few things need to be fixed.

First of all, most of the male professionals look like Louis Van Amstel clones! Since they all train at his center, that's to be expected, but perhaps some variety would be helpful. The only two I don't see as being as studied and predictable as the rest are Derek Hough and Mark Ballas. Maybe DWTS needs to look outside the current gene pool for its male professionals.

I love the current crop of judges, but they need to be augmented a bit. Paula Abdul would be a good judge, so would Jennifer Lopez. Why not ask the incredible Rita Moreno to sit in as a guest judge. She is after all, one kick-ass dancer. How about Chita Rivera? Here's a thought - Catherine Zeta-Jones as a judge? Talk about a ratings booster. I'm just sick of Bruno's theatricality at the judging table, Len's grump and Carrie Ann's emotionalism.

Quit fiddling with the format. Tonight's final dance-off is redundant and robs the fans of the right to have their final input.

Finally - young performers like Zendaya do not belong on the show. They don't have the maturity to express themselves and end up being a distraction. Yes, she is somewhat talented and yes, she can dance fairly well, but does she move you like an Ali Raisman's hard-fought journey or the unexpectedly exquisite Kellie Pickler? I don't see it.

And a nitpick - professional females, if you're going to be a bleached blonde, do your damned roots! Show some respect for the audience and your craft. I'm talking to you Peta and Kym.

The only thing I can figure is that the New York "elites" (those who do not know or care that this country exists West of the Hudson River) are somehow protecting him, but that suggests that the protectors of this small-minded, nasty little man have a very peculiar version of a sense of humor!

David Letterman is not funny.

David Letterman is not SMART.

David Letterman confuses personal attacks and repetitive nonsense as somehow equating with actual humor.

David Letterman is an ASS!

The sooner this insensitive boorish twit is banished from the airwaves, the better.

David Letterman must go, along with his sycophantic band leader and his Top-10 Unfunny Lists!

A beautiful, cool Spring day became a nightmare yesterday. Endless confusion, massive and gruesome injuries caused by the actions of some completely amoral and despicable person or persons. It is madness, it is disgusting and it is - ultimately - stupid. Granted, we no longer are governed by the remarkable George W. Bush (congratulations on being a new grandpa, Sir), but still, it is never wise to infuriate the American people. We tend to be pretty even tempered folk, until you do something this horrid. Of course, the weinie in the White House is running true to form.

President Barack Obama was careful not to use the words "terror" or "terrorism" as he spoke at the White House Monday after the deadly bombings, but an administration official said the bombings were being treated as an act of terrorism.

So his PEOPLE can describe the atrocity with accuracy but he daren't speak its name? What a waste of time this man in the White House truly is.

Meanwhile, the expected, repetitive, all-too-frequently inaccurate reportage continued on every network except the Food Network and HGTV!

And nobody interview anyone who was saying what we all should be thinking and doing - praying for the victims and the souls of the three dead, one of which was an 8-year-old boy with his whole life ahead of him! There's a name for people who make war on those weaker than themselves - sniveling cowards! Just saying.

UPDATE: So they caught the bastards (one of whom will NEVER be able to harm us again) and the father (surprise, surprise) in Russia is claiming they were "set up" which is total horseshit. So what I want to know is what did that pissant in the White House know and when did he know it?

And God bless us all!

God sent his only Son to die for our sins and we celebrate his resurrection on Easter Sunday. To those secularists who see themselves as the center of the Universe, I will be praying for YOU on Easter morning, along with all the billions of people who do believe in God and do celebrate his miraculous life, death and resurrection.

It remains to be seen whether this new Pope is beneficial for the Church, although I tend not to doubt the Holy Spirit's influence on the Conclave.

Those who are already "piling on" this new Pope are idiots. Since the Catholic Church has, throughout its history, frowned on sex outside of marriage, their disapproval of gays is hardly surprising. And those who are expecting changes in orthodoxy are nuts. The Church over its 2,000 year history has remained pretty consistent and I see no reason to expect anything other than mild adjustments in tradition.

As to the fact that this Pope eschews lavish trappings, that is a positive and the fact that he is a Jesuit only is slightly troubling. Jesuits have been known in the past to be fairly radical, but Pope Francis doesn't strike me as that type, and the man's smile is something that warms the heart!

The season of this television show has just concluded. It is also the first season of this show that I actually watched - start to finish - due to the insistence of my roommate who is a big fan.

I can now, based on my own observations, make the following assessment. It's a very skeevy show and I won't watch it again - not even out of sheer boredom. The idea of 26 women pursuing one fairly attractive young man who doesn't seem to have a job - other than taking off his shirt is ludicrous to me. Granted there is a shortage of men in many cities but still - this way, really?

The president of the United States has canceled White House tours because of sequestration. Really? You worthless s.o.b. why don't you cut back on the numerous and costly vacations taken by you and your wife and use those funds to provide the additional security you've cut so that "We the People" whose house it actually IS can resume the tours? What a thin-skinned, petulant cretin someone else voted for for president - certainly I didn't vote for him. He's STILL campaigning, not governing!

I think that the President, Vice-President, each Cabinet secretary and each member of Congress should be subject to a 20% salary cut until the deficit is appreciably reduced.

Furthermore, "We the People" need to start scrutinizing all Federal programs to ascertain which ones WE think should be cut and then make our feelings known. And any non-cooperating member of Congress should be removed from office forthwith and someone who has our interests at heart should be elected to replace those removed.

On another note, when will the various pundits now spewing their "wisdom" on the subject of the Catholic Church be instructed to shut their ignorant pie-holes. The Catholic Church has survived 2,000 years without your self-perceived wisdom and we'll flourish an additional 2,000 years without your self-serving ignorance.

The pampered spoiled brat who lives in the White House is whining on television about Republicans not being willing to accede to his demands on the budget. Well, you ignorant asshat - that's why they were elected to oppose your sorry self!

Meanwhile, you are spending $180,000 per hour flying around the country trying to get your mindless supporters to put pressure on Congress to do your bidding. Where is the logic in that? Why don't you stay home, listen (really LISTEN) to people smarter than you (practically everyone) who want you to stop raising taxes - a countraproductive activity - and start taking a serious look at the budget and behaving like a true administrator and do what is truly best for the country rather than what would further your leftwing, socialist agenda. Meeting with Republican leadership for SEVEN MINUTES is not negotiating. It's an insult and a sham!

Thank God for those who stand stubbornly athwart the idiocy you propose!

Here's a simple solution. All cuts will be tied to Presidential and Congressional salaries AND budgets, starting immediately. If government workers lose two days pay, then the president and all members of the House and Senate should lose two days pay. If the budget for the Armed Forces is cut 25% - then the budget for the White House should be cut 25%, starting with staffers. Travel budgets should be cut, Michelle Obama's numerous vacations should be severely curtailed and her travel expenses should be eliminated entirely, thereby relieving us of the necessity to see her ugly mug on every damned television show she can weasel her way onto!

Mr. Obama - you are not our Dictator, you are our EMPLOYEE and it's time you started acting like it! Long past time as a matter of fact.

By Australians and by Brits! Have you noticed lately how many people from England, Wales and Australia are performing in American films and television shows - almost always affecting an American accent?

I'm just curious - whatever happened to all those AMERICAN actors and actresses who are both talented and unemployed?

I'm sick of seeing our First Lady - elected to nothing, by nobody - popping up every damnedwhere on network television shows - presenting Best Picture at the Oscars, doing cooking segments on Good Morning America - just generally participating in popular culture (?) venues as if she was some kind of rock star or media glutton. What is she doing? Why is she acting like she's running for office?

Perhaps she should concentrate on actually raising her kids, growing her freaking garden and generally keeping in the background as most other, more classy First Ladies have done!

Michelle - all you can accomplish by your antics is to make you even less likeable because essentially, my dear, you are NOT likeable woman and the more familiar we become with you, the less likely we are to like, approve of, or generally support anything you're doing!

I'm going to start out controversial here. The broadcast was, as always, entirely too self-indulgent. But despite some of Seth MacFarlane's few questionable jokes, I think he was a very enjoyable host for the evening. There were very few surprises, although I would enjoy one Oscar Broadcast without the treasonous witch Jane Fonda. Where she should be is in prison, not striding forth onto the Dolby Theater stage, dressed like a banana, and pretending to have some worth as a human being!

Michelle Obama's appearance was both unseemly and unnecessary! What is FLOTUS campaigning for? Why is it we have to look at that battered puglist's ugly mug more often than absolutely necesary? Go take another vacation you useless wench!

I can only hope that after the show the winsome Anne Hathaway went out and ate at least a sandwich! There IS such a thing as entirely too thin!

Is Kristen Stewart on drugs? If not, does she OWN a hairbrush. I get that she's awkward and shy. What I don't understand is - if she wants to be in this business - why doesn't she get some coaching and training on public appearances,

As of February 28th, our beloved Pope Benedict will leave the Papacy, clearing the way for another Pope to be elected to fill the office.

He is citing weakening health, both physical and mental. Many are spinning counterclockwise, spewing forth ill-informed theories, while those of us who love His Holiness simply prepare to miss him.

The most loving thing a Pope can do for his people is to recognize his frail health and its impact on his governance of 1.2 billion Catholics and remove himself from office before he does any kind of damage that a successor might need to repair. He's a class act, our beloved Pontiff and now he can retire, at age 85, to quietly enjoy his Mozart and his cats.

I will miss him, as will many other faithful Catholics. Non-Catholic comments are not encouraged.

1910–15; translation of Latin pānis et circēnsēs; from a remark by the Roman satirist Juvenal on the limited desires of the Roman populace.

Is this what we've come to?

We are more exercised by whether or not Beyonnce (a talented but limited performer) pre-recorded her version of the National Anthem or not than we are by anything those living jokes in the White House or in Congress are doing.

There was nearly as much press over Michelle Obama's bangs than there was over the actual words of her spouse which sounded to me like a further slide into socialism was being engineered by his administration.

We get the kind of government we deserve - so if we don't start paying close attention, we ARE screwed!

This recipe is from my late mother - Irene Savko Miller - and was always a huge hit with people.

Buy one or more pounds of either hot or mild Italian sausage. Allow to come to room temperature (for food safety reasons, do not let it sit out too long), form into small balls and brown in skillet until browned on all sides. Do not crowd the pan or the balls won't develop a nice brown crust. (A combination of hot and mild works very well too.)

PLEASE NOTE: They will not be cooked all the way through at this point!

Place browned sausage balls onto a cookie sheet and put into the oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees to complete the cooking process.

Serve slightly warm with a container of toothpicks and a bowl of unsweetened applesauce onto which you have sprinkled a fairly good quantity of cinnamon hearts. The sausage balls may be dipped into the applesauce and then eaten. Yum.

People love these and they're an easy treat to serve at your next festive gathering.

Okay. It is a well known fact that I find Hillary Clinton to be a contemptible creature with very little to recommend her lack of character. That being said, what are you right-wing idiots thinking when you make the snarky and snide comments I have recently read? This is a fe4llow human being, folks! If we want the dialogue to become more civil, you don't start that by being nasty and contemptible - no matter what the other side says or does. And I admit, I have indulged in some of that same poor behavior myself from time to time, particularly as it pertains to our "ceremonial" president (h/t Hill Buzz for that fine description) and the execrable John F. Kerry.

However, having suffered some of what Mrs. Clinton has been through of late and being pretty much in her same age group - although older - I wish her only the best in her recovery from what has had to be a frightening health scare. I suffered a stroke about three years ago. It was extremely mild and left no lasting symptoms, although I subsequently had to undergo what I described as two "roto-rooter" operations to clear the carotid arteries on both sides of my neck. My surgeon was so deft that I have virtually no scar visible, despite the incision from just below each ear down nearly to my collarbone.

So I wish Mrs. Clinton a speedy and complete recovery. It's probably a good thing that you're no longer going to be under the pressures of the Department of State, despite my humongous reservations about your possible replacement.

It's 2013. If improvements are to be, they must start with ME!
