Apparently the new House Speaker, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, believes she is experiencing a coronation, not an election to a position that can be taken from her at any time. Based on her pathetic demonstration of non-leadership so far, that is likely to happen. She and her asinine cohorts are now promising to fix all the ills of America in 100 hours because they are so skillful at running the government. Sure they are.

Ms. Pelosi was not terribly skillful when she intended putting an impeached federal judge in a position of power on the House Intelligence Committee, a chairmanship that should have gone to the qualified Jane Harman and ended up in the hands of the unqualified Rep. Reyes. For our sake I hope that Rep. Reyes now knows more about our enemies than he did a few weeks ago.

Despite promises of bipartisanship, Ms. Pelosi is doing everything in her power to block members of the House who happen to be Republican from any of the deliberations taking place.

Ms. Pelosi also apparently has overlooked the fact that anything proposed and passed in the U.S. House of Representatives still needs the concurrence of the U.S. Senate (where the Dems only have a 1 vote majority and Joe Lieberman isn't that dependable any longer) AND the signature of the President of the United States who is STILL Commander in Chief and who still outranks her (thank God).

My view is that Nancy Pelosi will, in the fullness of time, begin to torpedo the possibility of any leadership position for a woman in this country for a good 50 years. At that point, Mrs. Clinton may be moved to swift and decisive action vis-a-vis Ms. Pelosi's Speakership. I give it 6 months - maybe less than that.

a tough day for any reasoned AMERICAN.

Liberal Deceit rewarded, taking control of Congress.

thanks for the great post, which made my day a little easier.

hoping many Conservatives will remember this day, unite, and work to rebuke this folly in 2008.

best wishes...

I hope you're right! How such a collection of oddballs and misfits could reach such a position of power is beyond me. There are times when it seems obvious to me that Americans have regressed into imbecility. We'll have to wait and see if this is one of those times and if we can climb out once again.
