WAR ON TERROR

It is time for our country to start taking the War On Terror seriously in a way that we have not done since the invasion of Afghanistan and the toppling of the Taliban.

The mainstream media (aka useful idiots) has mounted an energetic and spirited campaign (also known as “Bush Derangement Syndrome”) since the election of George W. Bush before 9/11 (yes, kids, he DID win that election – now get over it) and it shows no sign of diminishing any time soon. And this campaign has undermined our President’s ability to wage the war on terror in many ways.

Coupled with that is President Bush’s unaccountable deference to President Vicente Fox of Mexico, a slick con artist if ever I have seen one. For anyone who was paying attention, on the day AFTER the atrocity of 9/11, President Fox was instructing our country not to use the attacks on our country as an excuse to close our borders! At the time I thought, what unbelievable gall the man had. Nothing he has said or done since then has changed my mind.

So long as President Bush and our completely airheaded Congress is willing to let President Fox fob off his indigent population on AMERICAN TAXPAYERS by preventing us from securing our own borders, we will not be a secure nation. It’s bad enough that Canada can and does let most anybody into their country – we at least have some control at our northern border (not much, but at least SOME), while our Southern border is virtually wide open!

No, the Senate Immigration Reform bill is NOT good law and it is not good policy for the security of our nation. The House bill is much closer to what the American people want (understandable since I have always felt that the House is closer to and more responsive to the people who pay their salaries – they have to be since they’re up for re-election every 2 years) and anyone who suggests that the House of Representatives defer to the Senate in this area will earn my undying contempt!
Most of the Democratic members of the Senate and a good portion of the Republican members of the Senate are lucky to have ANY job and they aren’t giving value in the one that they do have. Many, like that bloviating gasbag Senator Kennedy (44 years in office), should have retired long ago. John McCain is so busy positioning and re-positioning himself for a run for the Presidency that he has been on every side of every issue in the past 3-4 years. Senator: When you stand for EVERYTHING, you stand for NOTHING. And then of course, we have her royal self, Queen Hillary of New York, a woman who makes a Mafia enforcer look mellow by comparison! She is shrill, unrelenting, vicious and completely uninterested in the thoughts or opinions of anyone other than her own self. Anyone who longs for an imperial presidency would get just that with this shrieking harridan!

Either we want this Republic to survive or we do not. It is tempting indeed for conservatives to think about deserting the Republican Party because heaven knows, they haven’t shown much loyalty to us. However, by visibly supporting incumbent Republicans in their re-election bids and keeping the majority in both Houses, if for no other reason than to piss off Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid which is a noble goal in and of itself, as well as prevent their planned asinine impeachment proceedings against President Bush a distraction we do NOT need while we are trying to defeat Islamofascists – will give us more currency in affecting the direction of the House and Senate than any other. Ah hell, even Lincoln Chafee is (marginally) better than most of the Democrats in the Congress, although I would urge Connecticut to re-elect Joe Lieberman who is one of the few SANE Democrats serving in the Senate.
Unless and until our entire nation can be seen to be completely committed to defeating the international terrorists, these murderous, hate-filled individuals will be emboldened to continue to plot against our nation without fear of our wrath, much as they did during the 8 years that President Clinton was busy "feeling our pain", biting his lip and selling out our nation for illusory peace.

That’s my opinion at any rate!
