THIS JUST IN

Apparently 7-Eleven Inc. is dropping Venezuela-backed Citgo as its gasoline supplier at more than 2,100 locations and switching to its own brand of fuel when its 20-year contract with Citgo Petroleum Corp. ends next week. Approximately 2,100 of 7-Eleven's U.S. stores (5,300 in all) sell gasoline. In my neighborhood they are almost always the least expensive purveyer of fuel - and you can get a decent cup of coffee at the same time.

7-Eleven has apparently been studying providing its own brand of fuel for some time and will be getting its supplies of gas from U.S. based independent refiners.

As Jerry Lewis has been heard to say during his annual Telethon: "Oh thank heaven for 7-Eleven!"
