I would like to state for the record that I disagree with that assessment. Anybody that would build a city 5 feet below sea level in a hurricane zone and fill it with Democrats is a genius". I realize full well that the enthusiasts of Barack Hussein Obama’s candidacy see something in this creature of radical and divisive Chicago politics that I don’t see. I just wish I could fathom what that something actually is!
Is it that he is such a blank slate that the observer can write on Obama’s essential emptiness whatever philosophy or possibility the observer chooses?
Is he so evasive that we know he can never be blamed for anything he said, because he never says anything? And do not even begin to try to argue this point with me.
During the debate last Friday, Senator McCain was polite and gracious. He started the debate by wishing well to the hospitalized Senator Edward M. Kennedy – Senator Obama did not deign to mention Senator Kennedy. Senator McCain unfailingly referred to Senator Obama AS Senator Obama. On the other hand, Senator Obama unfailingly referred to Senator McCain as “John” (disrespectful in any context since Senator McCain is older than Senator Obama AND has far lengthier service in the Senate) or “you” – which is just plain rude and offensive.
Senator McCain talked about programs and specifics and his vision for the next 4 years. Senator Obama engaged in partisan rhetoric and attacks.
I am grateful that Senator McCain took advantage of a few openings and thoroughly smacked down this obstreperous puppy as he deserved. Now we must pray that the electorate – particularly those of us who are bitter and clinging to our guns and religion – do likewise!
The incompetent crone who is Speaker of the House makes a spittle-spewing, vituperative, divisive and denigrating (of Republicans) speech BEFORE the vote. This speech is so out of line and over the top that 40% of the DEMOCRATS decide to vote against the bailout package and somehow this is the REPUBLICANS fault?
Was Mrs. Pelosi aware, when she became (in her words) "the most powerful woman in the world" that she would actually have to work with the other side and even accomplish things for the entire country - not just her safe little fiefdom in San Francisco? Was she aware that leadership was required in this position? Was she aware that her job was not to go flapping around the Middle East pursuing her own demented version of foreign policy, but rather to shepherd actual legislation through the U.S. House of Representatives and to do so in as bipartisan a manner as she possible could? Does this dippy bitch have a clue - about anything?
If she hasn't set the cause of so-called feminism back about 100 years, I'd be greatly surprised.
Vote on 11/4 - early and often - and see to it that these self-serving, hubris ridden idiots are all ridden out of town on a rail! Including and even especially San Fran Nan!
AND YES INDEED, I DO QUESTION THEIR PATRIOTISM!

First, beloved baby sis was driving home from work on Saturday, heading for I-395 South and onward to I-95 South when she realized that the HOV lane had been closed for some odd reason to ALL traffic. Later, as she got further down, traveling in the "regular" lanes, she realized that the HOV lane had been closed because some politician was going somewhere - turned out it was Barack Hussein Obama displaying his deep concern for regular folks by seriously inconveniencing them on a Saturday afternoon en route to a speaking engagement at Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Why this arrogant asshat couldn't have taken a helicopter from D.C. to the roof of Mary Washington Hospital and by car across the street to his speaking engagement (for which he was FOUR hours late) is a mystery to me! Clearly he sees himself as already being quite a special fellow!
And then this morning I chanced upon this New York Post article:
"Barack Obama apparently broke his promise to the family of a fallen Wisconsin soldier when he mentioned the slain sergeant's name in his Friday debate with John McCain. Brian Jopek, the father of the late Ryan David Jopek, told National Public Radio in March that the family asked Obama to stop wearing his son's bracelet, but the Illinois senator continued to do so. Jopek said his ex-wife, Tracy, was upset .."Tracy Jopek should be upset when this cynical poseur dares to use her dead son's name and bracelet for his own political aggrandizement! Take off the freaking bracelet Senator Obama and quit using the name of a fallen hero (which you aren't) without his surviving parents' permission (which you don't have). What part of keeping your damned promise don't you understand, you vainglorious pipsqueak!?

WANTS TO EVICT THE U.N. FROM U.S. SOIL!
GOOD ON HIM, SAYS THE CRANKY ONE!
If you trundle on over to Pam Meister's fine site you can read all about it. Sure I know that it is an idea whose time should have come already, but is tardy in its arrival, but a gal can dream can't she? Y'all have a nice weekend!

Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings on Wednesday warned two minority groups to beware of Sarah Palin because “anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.”
When this impeached Federal judge made these appalling and despicable remarks, it is reported that the audience laughed and applauded. Is this what the Democratic Party has become?
John McCain’s campaign theme is “America First” and had he not suspended the campaign and headed back to D.C. to do his job, he would not have been true to his principles. Like him or not, John McCain is a pretty consistent guy, especially when it comes to his core principles.
The fact that Barack Hussein Obama had to be shamed into actually DOING the job for which he is paid (Senator) is an appalling revelation of the kind of President he would be – voting present more often than not. And his dithering was another VERY bad sign. He keeps swaying with the prevailing winds, he’s gonna give himself whiplash!
And apparently his grasp of civics is still pretty shakey. No Senator Obama, we do not have 57 states. And NO Senator, we will not have a new president in 40 days. That’s only the election. Inauguration is several months distant!

Liberals are squealing like stuck pigs because Senator John McCain has suggested that, due to the economic crisis currently afflicting our nation, he and Senator Barack Obama temporarily suspend their campaigns and postpone the debate to return to Washington, D.C. and actually perform the jobs for which they were elected!
They are charging that Senator McCain is sure he will lose the debate (he won’t) or is trying to interrupt Barack Obama’s “momentum” (that downward spiral is inevitable and unstoppable, thank God).
Senator John McCain’s campaign slogan is “America First” – and unlike Senator Obama, John McCain means what he says!
Deal with it!
Why in the name of hell should we give a flying f**k what this SOUTH AFRICAN citizen and bimbo who happened to get lucky genetically (she is gorgeous after all) thinks? And since when does anyone in this country make their decisions based on what some FOREIGN CITIZEN thinks we should do?
I am so over these people, I cannot begin to tell you.

Of course the primary reason is simple: I get up at 5 a.m. on Monday mornings and staying up until midnight or so just isn’t on my list of things that I should ever do! Second, I am so tired of the fatuous, shallow self-congratulatory atmosphere of the entire show. I did watch long enough to see the luminous and immensely talented Jean Smart win her Emmy. Then the off switch was activated and my butt was in bed.
If the powers that be in television land want to know why people are turning them off more and more frequently, let me opine (it’s my blog – who’s going to stop me):
First, political commentary is not something I am willing to accept from high school dropouts who make their livings regurgitating the words of others. Other than genetic luck in the looks department and perhaps some minor playacting talent (an ability possessed to some degree in most small children), and the luck to be in the right place at the right time, what about the vast majority of them (there are occasional exceptions, of course) would commend them to me as political sages? You’ve got it – not a doggone thing. I am intelligent enough, educated enough and old enough to make up my own mind and your sanctimonious preaching is offensive as hell. Just STFU you brainless twits!
Second, the Emmy awards shows have become ponderous and entirely too lengthy. I confess to using my DVR last night to record the show, but only because I was curious to see Josh Groban’s justifiably anticipated medley of 60 years of theme songs – and since I watched that at 5 a.m. this morning, I felt secure in deleting the rest of the recording.
Finally, what interests a great many of us is what the stars were wearing – and that will be answered quite thoroughly on the entertainment networks and on the internet over the next few days. From what I could see, Tina Fey was going in the right direction but wore a gown that didn’t fit properly (clearly too tight, hence the many horizontal wrinkles). I may be a tad shallow and fascinated by the gowns, but I’ll indulge my silliness in controlled doses, thank you very much.
Current gripe. ABC television launched something called SoapNet several years ago. It was supposed to be devoted to daytime television programming. Can I ask – why are we being bombarded with endless reruns of 90210, third-rate movies and a series called MVP which may be the most overhyped and underwhelming original series any network has ever produced. Meanwhile, shows that DO belong on SoapNet are cancelled – such as the delightfully amusing SoapTalk, One Day With and others. Look ABC, make up your minds. If the network is called SOAPnet – why isn’t it devoted to oh, I don’t know, DAYTIME DRAMAS? You are SO LAME. And then these brilliant programmers wonder why we don’t watch! Duh! And yes, I watch soaps! At least they never have reruns and those are some of the most talented people in the entertainment biz who - amazingly - manage for the most part to keep THEIR political opinions to themselves!

If you read this article, you will see that Joe Biden's uncontrolled verbosity has gotten him into the kind of trouble that makes a Catholic go "Whoa! Gotta mend my ways!" - although whether it has had that effect on Rosary Joe and Botox Nancy is for them to know and between them and their own consciences.
What is important is that, due to the blatherings of Senator Biden, the Obama/Biden ticket is losing a significant portion of the Catholic vote. Which gives a small amount of credence to the idea being floated around the blogsphere that after the Vice Presidential debates (once again sparing Hillzilla from any actual necessity of saying what she thinks or means), Biden is going to resign from the ticket for "health reasons", to be replaced by Hillary. Since I would put nothing past the Clintons, I have about 5% belief in this rumor. I also think that it will be too little too late. Sarah Palin is so much more attractive a candidate than Hillary Rodham Clinton and such a breath of fresh air compared to the tired and rather shopworn shrillness of Mrs. Clinton that it will avail the Dem ticket nothing, particularly since to know Barack Hussein Obama for any length of time is to also know that there is "no there there" with this unqualified candidate.
What part of "against the law" do these little smart alecks not understand? If they CAN do it, they think they have the RIGHT to do it? What kind of parents do these kids have? What kind of moral guidance have they received? Oh right, we're talking about kids raised by parents who traffic in moral equivalency.
Maybe the miracle is that more of these children of Dem legislators don't do this kind of nonsense!
The Dems, in an astounding display of cowardice and honesty, have announced that they don't have the slightest idea what to do about our economic rollercoaster (for which they are largely responsible having pushed the low income mortgage programs and the endless - and false - economic bad news over the past few years). Their solution? They're adjourning and scurrying home with their tails between their legs! What the . . . !
People - does this not tell you how completely unfit all of them are to serve us? Why do we re-elect these quisling morons?
Am I right in thinking that we ARE getting the government we deserve and suggesting that maybe, just maybe, we ought to start taking the November (and all subsequent) elections a little more seriously?
People, this nation is a freaking miracle and we treat it as though it is always going to be that way, regardless of how we abuse our good fortune in living here! Would your garden grow if you ignored it? No, unless of course you are planning to cultivate weeds. And that's just what we have and it's time to get out the Weed 'n Feed and clear away the rubble we've created by electing some people who give a damn about something other than their own self-aggrandizement. Or we could just continue to tolerate the mediocrities who walk the halls of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
I'm voting McCain/Palin and Gilmore (in Virginia). I would suggest that some serious thought is required by all of us about who we choose this November. This may be the year that, were it on the ballot, "none of the above" would win!

From CNN's Jack Cafferty
Will race be the factor that keeps Obama from the White House? Race is arguably the biggest issue in this election, and it's one that nobody's talking about.
The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain couldn't be more well-defined. Obama wants to change Washington. McCain is a part of Washington and a part of the Bush legacy. Yet the polls remain close. Doesn't make sense…unless it's race.
Is this putz serious? He sees the ONLY difference between these two men as RACE? How about QUALIFIED vs. UNQUALIFIED? How about good judgment and none whatsoever? THIS is considered good JOURNALISM today? Yes, I know - using all caps is considered shouting in Internet etiquette. Whyinhell do you think I'm using them? CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS are not, amongst all of them, possessed of even one halfway decent journalist! Never mind their blatant anti-American bias. If the stakes weren't so high, they'd only be pathetic losers. But instead they are dangerous to our nation's security and honor and they frequently veer over into sedition and treason.
YES, I AM QUESTIONING THEIR PATRIOTISM.
The perfect comeback to the Democrats constant barrage about McCain's age... Use this!!!
Much is made of McCain's age. Has anyone brought up the fact that Obama
smokes and both of his parents died at an early age. Plus Biden has had two
brain aneurysms which could have killed him. If they both died while in office
that would leave Nancy Pelosi as president. I can't think of a better
reason to vote for McCain & Palin.

H/T Cousins Scott and Ernie in Ohio
Much has been made (by the Dems) of Senator Barack Hussein Obama’s recent trip to Europe which included a fairly brief stop in
It has now come to light (see the N.Y. Post articles of Amir Taheri) that while he was in Baghdad, the good Senator violated the Logan Act quite egregiously by attempting to negotiate foreign policy adjustments with the Prime Minster of Iraq, even going so far as to suggest that the SENATE ought to be negotiating all future foreign policy vis-à-vis Iraq. Has this arrogant s.o.b. even READ the Constitution?
Congress doesn’t make foreign policy. Period. That is the President’s job and it was a violation of the Logan Act for Senator Obama to even get into these topics while he was on his self-aggrandizing visit to
THESE activities engaged in by Senator Obama constitute nothing less than treason. Do the drooling Dems even know that prior (responsible) lawmakers have put into place mechanisms for dealing with people (like John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and others) who think they have either the RIGHT or the ABILITY to deal with foreign leaders one-on-one, against the interests of their own country and in violation of the law? When will our Justice Department deal with this outrage? It’s time for Republicans to strap on a set and make it crystal clear that this shit has to stop. Trying to make nice with the Dems is now and always has been a fool's errand. It's time our good President stopped being such a nice guy and started showing them who is STILL running the show!
George W. Bush is STILL President of the

Here's the deal, as I see it. First, the "greed is good" attitude has been prevalent since 1997 or before and I don't think any government regulations could have stopped it. Clinton and Bush both were getting total credit for the orgy - but I honestly don't think either of them had a whole lot to do with it. I think free markets are cyclical. I also think that trying to "tamp down" those markets is a huge mistake. We have a free market economy. Was that real money lost? Yes, for some people. That's why it's called a gamble, folks! From my point of view, if I thought I had enough money to do it, I'd have my happy ass on the phone buying stock right now while it's lower!
Second, even while our economy was clicking along on all cylinders, the morons of the mainstream media were actively rooting for an economic downturn, to the point that they actually generated it. There are many reasons to detest the so-called mainstream media idiots - this is just another one of their many sins. Does anyone but me recognize that we STILL have not fulfilled the criteria for an actual recession, despite the fact that the news media has been proclaiming one to exist for over 5 years? Reality check, people!
Third, that pipsqueak Chicago pol's campaign is bringing out a new group of bumper stickers that basically say "you name the religion" for Obama. Folks, I am a Catholic. I have paid attention to Senator Obama's positions carefully before making any hard-and-fast decision about my choice in November. I will grant you I did the examination early on and made a lightning quick decision to support Senator McCain - but I DID give Obama's opinions - what he has allowed us to know of them - and his voting record some scrutiny. He is pro-abortion to the point that I think he would consider an abortion okay, even if it happened 12 seconds before the child's mother went into labor! Sorry, fella! That puts me right off you in perpetuity!
I am not what would traditionally be considered a values voter. I'm actually pretty tolerant. But killing the unborn isn't something about which I am ever going to be tolerant. It's murder to me, plain and simple. No equivocation or attempting to "nuance" my opinion (which has worked so well for Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden - just ask the total of 40 bishops that have condemned their stance).
I suspect I will not be the only Catholic offended to the core by amateur hour over at the Obama campaign. They seem determined to destroy themselves. I say we give them what they want!
UPDATE: Even "Nanny" Bloomberg seems to feel that Senator McCain's (and my) take on the current economic tremor is a correct one: Old Wall Street hand Mayor Bloomberg of New York, agreeing with McCain, helps the clueless Democrats and liberals out:
“I do agree that fundamentally America has an economy that is strong,” he said. “America’s great strength is its diversity, its hard work, its good financial statements, its broad capital markets, its enormous natural resources” and its work ethic, he said at an afternoon press conference devoted to reassuring New Yorkers that the city’s finances and its economy are intact.“I’d rather play America’s hand than any other country,” he said. “Without problems? No.”

Of course a miracle could happen. I don't think a national championship is in the cards for the Buckeyes. Also, I think Columbus, Ohio fans are unrealistic in their expectations of the Ohio State Buckeyes - and what idiot scheduled them against USC so early on anyway?
Nevertheless? GO BUCKS!!!!!!!
