The man was enormously talented and squandered all of his potential in aberrant and strange behavior. He is now facing the incorruptible judge and his unfortunate children have a slender chance of living a normal life (if they can change the asinine names he foisted upon each of them).

Wall-to-wall coverage by the various news networks pushed the death of Farrah Fawcett off the radar and more importantly, drowned out further news of the horrendous suffering of the Iranian people at the hands of their own government. Important stuff, like the U.S. Congress further destroying the future of this nation with crushing debt was given short shrift, if it was reported at all. Fox News was just as guilty as all other news (?) outlets for their fairly hysterical and fawning coverage of what is likely to turn out to be a drug-related death, just as in the case of Elvis Presley. And is it my imagination or is Shepherd Smith a total lightweight?! These people were idolized and yet their lives and deaths were train wrecks. Some role model!

Where are our values, and where are our priorities? Is it possible that our skewed values are coming back to bite us in the butt?

It's a sobering thing when people younger than you are succumbing to disease and you're still waking around, mainly healthy! Here was a beautiful woman, who seemed to have all the gifts a person seeks in life, including a man who loved her (albeit Ryan O'Neal is a very flawed man), a handsome, if troubled son who adored her, fame, money. I feel about Ms. Fawcett's death much as I felt about my late mother's death - I'm sorry to see her go but I'm glad that her horrendous pain is over.

Now, it is time to thank Ms. Fawcett for the gifts of entertainment she gave to us by remembering her in our prayers, along with her grieving family.

Farewell, beautiful lady. Rest well.

THE THUGS OF IRANIAN STATE SECURITY ARE ON THE MOVE

Secure in the knowledge that there is not a man of honor or morality occupying our White House, the brutal thugs of Iranian state security have been loosed upon the protestors in a raw display of viciousness and violation of their own citizens' civil rights that should make our president (voting "present" as usual) hang his head in shame. It is now being reported that state security is using axes on the protestors, throwing them off bridges, hunting them down with helicopters and beating old men to death in the streets! What kind of threat does an old man pose?

Thanks President Obama. Once again you prove that you are a dismal excuse for a President, utterly lacking in humanity, courage or character.

This is the Iranian regime that our president (until today) hesitated to criticize at all, wading into its own unarmed people and axing them to death, bludgeoning women (seen as the greatest threat to the regime) and throwing them to their deaths from pedestrian bridges. The same Iranian regime whose embassy officials are invited to American embassies around the world to celebrate on July 4th, of all things, a successful revolution. Those invitations have now, thankfully, been rescinded. At least someone at State has some decency and class!

Pray for these courageous Iranian protestors. And pray that Israel has the courage and the wherewithal to prevent these lunatic creatures from acquiring a nuclear arsenal!

Last night, like a lot of people, I was fascinated by how they were going to announce what was already a fact, they had filed for dissolution of their 10-year marriage! Naturally the castrating bitch Kate spent the entire hour of the show casting herself as the heroine and the victim of Jon's "unacceptable activities" when in fact, any man married to her would have fled as though his BVDs were on fire! And, while he still possessed his cojones!

Jon was slightly more articulate than he has been in the past; it's clear that he loves his kids and tried to put up with her royal high and mightiness as long as he could for their sake. Those crooked houses they ordered were darling and his idea for placing them out of the eyeshot of the vulturous pressers was a good one. Naturally, the control freak he is [still] married to wanted them where SHE wanted them. And, as always, she got her way! Good heavens I dislike that woman!

One look at that horrendous haircut she sports is a clue that Kate Gosselin is truly trailer trash. Then there is her sitting on the couch with her filthy bare feet on display - the woman has no class! Jon Gosselin is well rid of her. Here's hoping that cash doesn't trump the best welfare of those 8 adorable children in the divorce.

WHY ISRAEL DESERVES OUR WHOLEHEARTED SUPPORT

When Israel became a nation, we were the first country to recognize their right to exist. That didn't stop the Arabs from attacking them, unmercifully aiming their tanks and guns on settlements of farmers (and children) and generally behaving the way Arabs always behave, with complete lack of regard for human life.

In the intervening years since 1948, not much has changed, The Arabs are still 7th century savages and Israel continues to hang on by its fingernails.

Our claim to being civilized human largely rests on our ability to defend and protect those less fortunate, less well provided-for than ourselves. And, the reward for us has been that Israel is now and always has been faithful and dependable friend to us.

The sole exceptions to the secure friendship between us and the State of Israel seems to involve the presidency of James Earl Carter, Jr. (the anti-Semitic old fart who should shut his ignorant pie-hole already) and now, the current presidency of Barack Hussein Obama (and who among us would be surprised that HE is no friend to Israel?).

It's my feeling that our souls depend on our support of Israel, and perhaps our survival as a nation as well. Shalom, our longtime and treasured ally. Thanks for taking care of Iran's lunatics for us! If indeed it becomes necessary - and I suspect it will.

Considering the entire "in the tank for Obama" scenario that the Republicans have whined about for months - and which we have witnessed ourselves, why not make sure that ABC is in strict observance of the FCC rules. A complaint about this should be filed with the FCC which has a permanent cast of characters (not subject to The Won's airy dismissal) and let them decide whether or not there are violations involved in ABC's devotion of massive amounts of time and resources to which is basically a political commercial for the health care bill that those in Congress aren't terribly happy about!

OKAY - I HAVE BEEN REALLY, REALLY CRANKY OF LATE!

This is the result of a great deal of back pain due to our never-ending rain storms here in the District AND the result of my frustration with finding a doctor to roto-rooter out my carotid artery (has to be on my health insurance plan doncha know).

But I do want to make it a point to wish a couple of really special men a Happy Father's Day. One of those men is my beloved cousin Stuart - who has two absolutely delightful sons, Blaine and Nathanial. Stuart takes great joy in being a father and in fulfilling the responsibilities that fatherhood entails. To the point that he is a [retired] lobbyist in the field of father's rights. A chat with Stuart will convince you that single motherhood is a good way to screw up your children. Kids need both parents, but they do, really, need their fathers. The other person I am wishing a Happy Father's Day is my beloved co-worker, Chris, who is the most loving, most involved, most utterly dedicated father. All the propoganda about men being absentee fathers does not take into account men like Chris who are THERE, interested, disciplinarians, with high expectations for the children's performance in school, and quite willing to arrange his life to be sure the mother of his two youngest has the opportunity to be part of their lives. Chris, you're one of the men who give me hope.

Finally, a happy Father's Day to my late, greatly loved father, Gilbert Joseph Miller, who gave all that he was able to give and taught me love of books and reading and history. He was a brilliant and troubled man but never, in any way, shirked his responsibilities as a father. Daddy, I loved you when I was a child and I love you still. Thank you too for imbuing me with your wacky sense of humor. It has kept me sane on many an occasion.

I think the word "vicious" was overlooked. If a successful female news person should be honored the likes of Dorothy Kilgallen (who may have given her life for an honest story - she was conducting an in-depth investigation of JFK's assassination at the time of her death which may have been murder) and the extraordinary Cleveland stalwart Dorothy Fuldheim who has an undeniable role in American television news history; she is credited with being the first woman in the United States to anchor a television news broadcast as well to host her own television show. She has been referred to as the "First Lady of Television News." In what may be a legend, it was long rumored that she was thrown out of Nazi Germany by Adolf Hitler because (a) she was Jewish and (b) she would not kowtow to the Nazi p.r. machine.

I started my first career in television news in Cleveland and was fortunate enough to be interviewed by Ms. Fuldheim who refused to hire me becuase "I don't hire potential competition" - the nicest compliment I ever received. She was admired and feared by most in the television news business in Cleveland and was lovingly referred to as "Big Red" by all of us.

So don't pin roses on Helen Thomas whose greatest claim to fame is that she managed to hang on long past her prime! The true great pioneer woman in television news was Dorothy Fuldheim. Don't mess with Big Red.

WELL - IT'S SUMMERTIME AND THE DISTRICT IS OVERRUN WITH TOURISTS!

For some reason I cannot shake the feeling that they are here to visit the relics of the great country formerly known as the United States of America - now known as Obamaland! Somehow I cannot dismiss the belief that this is our last great summer as a nation and we really ought to make an effort to enjoy it fully!

We have a president whose grasp of our nation's history is so ephemeral he feels compelled to apologize for our former greatness, all the while doing what he can, as often as he can to diminish us in the eyes of the world. We used to be a nation with a spine. We used to be the kindest and most generous people on the planet. Anyone who had trouble, we were there. Now those we formerly aided are feeling somewhat sympathetic to our plight as a nation going down the sewer of history!

Quiet rumblings can be felt, however, of Americans who are not willing to surrender their liberty to the ham-handed nannyism of the Obama Administration. These patriots are not willing to be told what to drive, what to eat and what to think. They will drive their comfortable and safe vehicles and will not worry about non-existent global warming. They will eat the wonderful foods that our nation's farmers have grown. They will continue to think and act as free Americans filled with hope and possibilities and are not willing to surrender their souls to the socialism of the current administration. And those quietly authentic Americans can and will prevail as they work to return our nation to its true owners - the people of the United States - and to reject the infamia of the Obamanation!

that David Letterman's wholly inappropriate, offensive and downright creepy remarks about 14-year old Willow Palin were the fault of her mother, Governor Sarah Palin. That's like saying that it was Dr. Tiller's fault that he was killed because he walked in front of a bullet! Or that Pvt. Long is responsible for his own death because he was an Army recruiter!

A 62-year old man making endless suggestive and snarky remarks about Governor Palin is offensive and disgusting - clearly the fact that she is a beautiful, conservative woman makes her fair game. But making those same kinds of remarks about Gov. Palin's 14-year old daughter is completely indefensible and cannot be, as the Left is now claiming, blamed on Willow Palin's mother and father in any way! The person responsible for the poor judgment displayed and the utterly indefensible and offensive comments made by David Letterman is David Letterman - a man who is only 1/4 as funny as he thinks he is and who ONLY keeps his job at CBS because he's a card carrying, Kool Aid drinking liberal!

You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself Mr. Letterman. And the so-called feminist women who greeted these inappropriate and completely creepy comments made by Mr. Letterman with thunderous silence should be horsewhipped! And yes, I meant horsewhipped. I'm not at all politically correct, have never claimed to be, don't want to be. I'm an old broad who is blunt and outspoken and like myself that way.

“We apologize that Mr. Letterman’s mistake, which was not consistent with our standards and values, left you with a bad impression of Olive Garden,” wrote Sherri Bruen, the company’s guest relations manager.

A DERANGED HATER KILLED

An elderly, demented, 9/11 truther parked his little red car on 14th Street yesterday at lunchtime, exited the vehicle and walked into the Holocaust Museum and killed a good man. We don't know the full extent of Von Brunn's intent, but we can only surmise that one death was not the full extent of his hate-filled mission.

Of course, the Left is now attempting to blame the Tea Party participants, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin and Bill O’Reilly or anyone else they can come up with, fully forgetting the extent of the hatred and vile language they have spewed over the past 8 years, such things as fantasizing about killing the President of the United States (George W. Bush), hate-raping conservative women, and making vile and despicable comments about Governor Sarah Palin's 18-year old and 14-year old daughters (David Letterman owns that particular piece of disgusting and fairly creepy speech).

Here's a novel idea - let's start holding Daily Kos responsible for the killing of Pvt. Long! It makes just as little sense as holding Bill O'Reilly responsible for the death of Dr. Tiller. Or better yet, let's start holding the actual SHOOTER responsible for their own crimes!

Maybe it needs to start with each one of us - the ramping down of the climate of hatred. Yes, sometimes I'm very cranky. Maybe I'll start to control my ire somewhat and remember that all of us - even Barack Obama - are children of God. Recalcitrant, stupid children sometimes - but still God loves us all, even when he despairs of our stupidity and bad behavior.

The thing that has always fascinated me about all these Jews-as-devils conspiracy people is that they are positing an ENORMOUS conspiracy and the laws of nature absolutely dictate that for a conspiracy that big to succeed - nobody can know about it and when the conspiracy is that big, someone will babble! Human nature being what it is. Senator Robert Byrd's former colleagues in the Klan apparently believe that black people aren't human. And yet, a very human, very brave black man, died protecting the visitors to the Holocaust Museum yesterday.

Yesterday evening I was watching an infomercial which claimed to be programmable to assist a person in finding such items as television remote controls, cell phones, key rings, etc. should they be lost. I couldn’t help but think that the very people for whom this device is intended are the kinds of people who would lose the device within the first few weeks of ownership and thus be really up a stump!

The most history-knowledge-deficient President in U.S. history has run his stupid mouth again and has declared this, the land that we love, to be the largest Muslim country on earth. Wait a minute bucko - you are wholly incorrect! There are 1.5 Billion Muslims in the world, 5,220,000 of them living in the U.S. There are also 1.13 billion Catholics in the world, of which 67 million live in the U.S. Now I would object to the President calling this a Catholic country but there is more basis for that than for his other moronic remark. Maybe TOTUS was having a bad day!

DOES ANYONE BUT ME THINK . . . .

That Kate Gosselin is a castrating bitch? During my recent illness, I was bored out of my mind and my overall weakness was such that I truly could not support a book for more than a few minutes not even a paperback. So I watched TV - and out of sheer boredom with the fare on offer, I spent a lot of Memorial Day weekend watching the "Jon and Kate Plus 8" marathon!

I have to say - if someone talked to me in the patronizing snarky tone that Kate routinely uses with her husband, I'd punch them out without even giving it much thought. The fact that Jon does not indicates to me that he has a boatload of self-control or else, no balls. And Kate's nasty disposition is clearly on display in her one daughter - Mady. In all honesty - the shrieking and crying and general nastiness the children display toward one another is not something I would or could tolerate for more than 10 minutes. I am old-fashioned enough to believe that children should be taught to behave early in their young lives.

Kate's always off doing book tours and book signings and personal appearances - all of this self aggrandizement at the expense of her time where she should be tending to and nurturing her children. Jon is always the man left behind to do the job his stay-at-home wife should be doing. It's clear that Jon would prefer to work in a regular job - but the princess that rules the roost at the Gosselin home will not tolerate anything of the sort - that much is clear!

Instead of exploiting her children, this self-important trailer trash woman should set about providing them with a good and loving example. She should start by exhibiting a kind and loving attitude toward her husband. But then this virago is really all about the money. The $75,000 per episode they are making isn't really enough for her grasping and voracious self!

The demented fanatic who murdered Dr. Tiller, the abortionist, will not be remembered as anything other than a cold-blooded killer by most people - and rightly so. Yes, Dr. Tiller was an apparently unrepentant murderer of the unborn. And yes, his bloody activities are anathema to most decent human beings. But killing him was not the answer. The lack of logic is towering. You want to make a point that killing is wrong - so you make your point by killing? Hmmmm - that one just skids off into irrational thinking territory at warp speed!

Human life - all human life - is deserving of protection! As a Catholic, I find the murder of Dr. Tiller terribly offensive on other grounds. Dr. Tiller was not able to repent his sins in the split second of his death. That is not a good thing - since the doctors soul was laden with error!

The mainstream media is being exceedingly dishonest in its reporting of the recruiting office killings also. The killer was a convert to Islam. Very few news stories bother to report that fact. Hmmmmm - why is that? Most news reports made a point of mentioning that the killer of Dr. Tiller was, in fact, a Christian. How is that a more important descriptive term than any other? If the fact that the killer of Dr. Tiller was a Christian is an important piece of information, then too, the information that the killer of the 23-year old Army recruiter was a Muslim is equally important. That's called balanced reporting, something not to be found too often in the mainstream media.

But then I'm old and have old-fashioned expectations about honor and honesty and civil discourse!

THE APOLOGY TOUR HAS BEGUN!

Well our peripatetic President has landed in Saudi Arabia en route to Cairo. No word on whether or not he bowed to the Saudi king again, but word has arrived that Osama bin Laden wasn't exactly tickled by our President's trip. Al Qaeda second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahri urged Egyptians not to be seduced by Obama's 'polished words' when he makes his planned speech in Cairo. He said in a recording on an Islamist website: "Obama ... is not welcome in Egypt." Apparently Islamofascists don't really cotton to our silver-tongued devil of a president! Can't say I blame them. He is ignorant of history, ignorant of protocol, ignorant of reality. Great Britain was our good and great partner during WWII and our reliable friend ever since but our idiotic naif of a President overlooked inviting the Queen of England (who was herself a member of the British armed forces during WWII) to participate in DD commemoration! What a dumbass! His planned stops in Dresden and Buchenwald are astonishingly tone-deaf faux pas!

Now if my words offend some KoolAid drinking leftists, too damned bad. The incompetent clown that 53% of Americans were fooled into thinking was qualified for the office is doing his damnedest to destroy this nation and I don't like it. I hoped and prayed that he would do well. No such luck. Can the American people force the Congress into impeachment proceedings? Would some attorney answer that for me please?

IF I WERE NOMINATED TO BECOME A U.S. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE. . .

I'd get my hair done! I'm not criticizing on frivolous grounds. Looking your best at important events in one's life shows respect for the occasion and yourself! It's more than just getting your hair done - it's showing up dressed and groomed in a way that indicates you understand the importance of the occasion. But then left wing women seem to think they cannot be taken seriously unless they look like unmade beds! How tragically pathetic they truly are!

MEANWHILE, in other news concerning this nomination, the Senate Republicans intend to take a more "measured" approach to this nominee, in other words, they will fold up their backbones and let the Dems roll over them, just as they always do. Ah, it would be good to have some Republican Senators with cojones! Judge Sotomayor is unqualified and unfit - just like the President who nominated her!

DID YOU MISS ME?

I have been AWOL the past three weeks, felled quite ungraciously by a raging case of double pneumonia! Don't let anyone tell you this isn't a serious situation! I was literally flat on my back. When I asked my doctor (2 weeks ago) why I wasn't mending more quickly, she had the effrontery to say "Because you aren't 18 any longer!" How dare she point out the TRUTH to me! The antibiotic prescribed by the doctor in the emergency room made every single thing I ate or drank taste like soap bubbles or wax! And this, despite the fact that I was SUPPOSED to be hydrating myself. So I choked down the soapy tasting water and tried to convince myself that I liked it! Pfui!

Sam the Wonder Cat was ecstatic that I was home and supine for the better part of 3 weeks. Linda, the beloved sister, was a total rock of support - stopping by daily to be sure I had sufficient to eat and/or drink (we finallly, by process of elimination, settled on Sprite as the only thing that did NOT taste like Palmolive dish soap) and giving Sam fresh water and food since it was impossible for me to pick up his food dish from the floor! As a result, Sam has finally gotten over his antipathy for Linda - a great relief to us both!

So thanks to those of you who inquired, or fussed at me, about my disappearance from the world. And thanks to my co-workers who made certain that my absence was memorialized by an excruciatingly funny get well card which they intelligently held until I was able to lift my head to read it!

Full health is just a few days away! And I did make one discovery during the past 3 weeks. BILLY MAYS is the most annoying man in America - even worse than that ShamWow guy!
