The easy answer is "Hell to the 'no'!" Don't you understand, we are helpless idiots, unable to manage our own lives without their supervision? We cannot select what to eat intelligently. We cannot stop doing things that are perceived as unhealthy, such as smoking (and heaven help me, I miss it!). And of course, our legislators (both the House and the Senate) are all so very skillful in managing their own lives. Just ask Charlie Rangel's advice on tax planning. Just ask Rep. Jefferson how useful a freezer is as a bank.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans marched in the streets at the Town Hall meetings and on 9/12 in the streets of Washington, D.C. I would think the sight of so many previously quiet and compliant Americans being so fed up with their elected representatives would have made it clear to our "betters" in the Congress that we aren't in the mood for their shit any longer. But no, they dissed those good people (who happen to be their EMPLOYERS) and ignored what they were saying.

Maybe they'll finally, finally get the message in November 2010 when we boot their asses out of their cushy jobs and send them packing!
