Aside from the fact that he isn't as enthralled with those repulsive Jersey Shore cretins as the rest of the country seems to be, he is a gentleman and doesn't tolerate guff from anyone! We need more conservatives with Christie's brand of "stones"!

"You want to yell? Yell at me, but don't give her a hard time," Christie said into his microphone. But Christie didn't stop there: "It's people who raise their voices and yell and scream like you that are dividing this country," he said. "We're here to bring this country together, not divide it." The audience roared with cheers and applause.

Gov. Christie, I'd give serious consideration to moving to New Jersey. First Janet Evanovich and now you! To quote Martha Stewart: "It's a good thing!"

LORETTA SANCHEZ (D-CA) IS AN IDIOT

I'm no racist, nor am I xenophobic, nor am I any kind of bigot. But I have always disliked with a great deal of energy this radical racist bitch from California. It's my firm belief that her election was fraudulent from the outset.

I lived in California when she was elected to office. I remember standing in line at the polls waiting to vote. I also remember that none of the people in line ahead of me could even speak English - which said to me that they were very very fresh over the river and through the woods! And likely illegal.

Now Madame Sanchez comes up with racist crap wherein she attacks Van Tran, a Republican, as “anti-immigrant.” Sanchez was born in California; Tran was born in Vietnam, and immigrated to this country in 1975. For you young’uns, that was the year when, thanks to Democratic politics, the U.S. turned tail and ran, leaving hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese citizens at the mercy of the Communists. DEMOCRATS CONTINUE TO BLAME EVERYONE BUT THEMSELVES FOR THEIR PREDICAMENT

On January 21, 2010, the Supreme Court ruled on the Citizens United case by which the Supreme Court affirmed that the First Amendment was violated by election laws interdicting campaign advertising by corporations in most instances. However, the advertising floodgates have not opened so much as the American people have seen - and quite clearly - the debacle being foisted upon us by the free-spending pinheads of the Democratic-controlled Congress.

Most of the advertising that irks Democrats was legal before Citizens United, and the plausible prospect of taking over one or both houses of Congress has energized Republicans, while Democrats are dispirited by the unpopularity of their party's policies.

Let's face it - it sucks to be a Democrat right now. For two years your party has had control of both houses of Congress AND the Presidency and while you've managed to ram through a lot of legislation, most of what you've done has been against the wishes of your employers - the American electorate.

You only have yourselves to blame for your potentially poor showing in the only Poll that counts - the one that will take place in November! Throw the bums out is the rallying cry of most Americans, Tea Party adherents or not.

And blaming George W. Bush for your predicament is the default position of whiney babies! You did your own silly selves in!

DEFEATED CANDIDATES AND THEIR TANTRUMS

Enough already with the infantile behavior. Lisa Murkowski - you didn't really earn the seat in the first damned place so don't piss and moan because people are fed up with your poor performance in it. Joe Miller won, fair and square, and your tantrum is unbecoming a public servant and a member of the Republican Party. Same goes for Castle in Delaware.

Both of you idiots need to don your adult Depends and endorse the candidate that defeated you. It's "We the People" not "Me the Incumbent" that is in charge!

A CAUTION TO CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES

I have noted, of late, a disturbing trend wherein conservative candidates are adopting many underhanded and despicable tactics formerly employed by Democrats in order to further their own candidates.

This is a trend that is manifestly wrong and should be rejected vocally by anyone who perceives this kind of activity.

Being a conservative means having some principles which I realize is a word unknown to La Pelosi and her merry band of crooks, cynical race baiters and the like.

We want to regain the power to balance the excesses of the Obama White House. In so doing, let us not abandon the high moral ground upon which we have always striven to stand. God won't thank us for being crooked Democrats-lite!

Looks like the geriatric leadership of the GOP is getting their bloomers in a bunch - and not a moment too soon. Their collective turgid stupidity has put this entire nation at risk and those of us who allowed them to get away with it for so long ought to have our fannies tanned! She was right to tell him that and he is still whining and says six weeks isn't long enough to get over the assault on his dignity! What a big baby and thank goodness he didn't get the nomination if he has to sit and lick his paw for 6 weeks before the general election.

If you're going to call yourself a Republican, you big mewling asshole, then man up, endorse the candidate who defeated you, and get on with your life. You've been feeding at the public trough long enough!

G.O.P. LEADERS NEED TO LISTEN AND HEAR
WHAT IS BEING SAID

I have a dear friend who is so disheartened by the victory of the Tea Party candidate in Delaware that he has closed his yahoo account and withdrawn from participation in political affairs evermore. That's a sad commentary on what is happening out there in the political world and one I would like to address.

FIRST, she may be a disaster but she's OUR disaster and we must deal with it. Why not counsel and educate her and have such as Cantor or Ryan spend some time teaching her what she needs to know. Furthermore, she needs to own up to her flaws in public and with no equivocation.

I don't think EITHER choice in Delaware was a particularly good one since Castle was your typical RINO and hardly someone that espouses conservative principles - but then again either is an improvement on Biden. I have long believed that our current vice president is a blithering idiot.

SECOND, while there are many problems with the current candidate - manifestly pointed out by no less than Karl Rove on Hannity last night - she is, nevertheless, our ticket to the seat. Ergo, the GOP's threat to not FUND the woman is asinine and petulant stupidity.

THIRD, if the Tea Party Express wants to be and remain a viable force in American politics, it must begin to choose and select candidates more carefully in advance and the GOP establishment needs to put on its big boy/girl panties and support those selected.

Here's the deal, as I see it, based on over 50 years of involvement in party politics, starting with the first Eisenhower campaign: The established GOP had, prior to the Tea Party Movement, completely lost its way. There was, essentially, no difference between the two parties. Both were spending out of control and both were involved in the passing of un-American (at best) legislation that was pissing off the people who put them in office. Which of course, gave rise to the Tea Party movement in the first place. The American people (who do, after all, pay the bills) were fed up and didn't want to be ignored any longer. And that is a mistake BOTH parties were and are still making.

Given that the Tea Party Express now has some traction and leverage, they have an equal responsibility to vet their endorsed candidates thoroughly and unapologetically.

Anyone who has consistently read my blog knows that I have often berated the Republicans in the House and the Senate for their spineless behavior. After the first euphoria of winning the majority had passed, it was almost as if they were apologetic for having the power to reshape the narrative. They were groveling for the Democrats to love them and that was - realistically - never going to happen. I have often said that bullies can be made to respect you but expecting them to love you is a fool's errand!

So let's quit throwing recriminations and accusations around at each other my fellow Republicans. The national Party needs to grow a pair and start behaving with leadership and integrity. The Tea Party Movement needs to stop behaving like a bunch of euphoric little kids and start accepting their ADULT responsibilities as well.

At the age of 68, I've achieved a certain degree of goofy wisdom. I don't think the Dems are going to control a damned thing after November but I do think that we need to develop and refine our message more clearly and more honestly and the national GOP needs to realize that they aren't going to live forever, they have made some serious mistakes and it's time for new blood to start affecting the outcome of things.

UPDATE: According to Drudge Report, contributions are flowing into the O'Donnell campaign so quickly that her website has crashed! Sounds like she doesn't need the national GOP contribution!

MUSINGS WHILST ON VACATION

I was on vacation last week and spent a lot of the time relaxing in front of the TV set with Rusty, my favorite unapologetic predator, on my lap. Buddy has reserved the back of my recliner for his own perch and so it went in the world of Mom and the two pussycats! At one point Nancy Pelosi was screaching away about something or other - which so disturbed my Rusty that he jumped off my lap and ran to hide under the end table by the window. Buddy remained unfazed, as he generally does.

Watched Sunrise at Campobello, a heavily fictionalized rendering of the story of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor from before his bout with polio and thereafter with the always fascinating Hume Cronyn playing Louis Howe. Greer Garson played Eleanor Roosevelt (looking far better than Eleanor Roosevelt ever could have hoped to look) and Ralph Bellamy, as FDR. Regardless of how you feel about FDR's presidency - and I'm in the category that believes he was a disaster unequaled until the Hick from Georgia and The Boy King's recent election - I had never really given much thought to the obstacles and the sheer WILL that drove the man. Comparing FDR in my mind with the cretin occupying the White House right now and FDR was a giant by comparison.

Perhaps President Obama would have worn better on the American populace if he had had the humility and good grace to be less visible. The more you see of him and the more you hear his condescending and hectoring rhetoric, the more you dislike this somewhat horrendous choice made by someone (I didn't vote for the s.o.b. and don't know anyone who did.). Since I work in the District, within a few blocks of the White House, I have observed first hand the incredibly arrogant way in which our President has caused the already horrid traffic to be further complicated willy-nilly in a way George W. Bush never seemed to. It's just one small sign of the man's mindset. Which is supercilious arrogance toward the peasants he thinks he rules. As if!

Ms. McCain - have you ever achieved anything worthwhile on your own or is your notoriety only the result of being born to a famous father and an overindulgent mother? I would say likewise for Bristol Palin (just by the way). Ms. McCain whose education is sketchy at best, has been plopping her dumbass self on various leftwing talk shows to diss Gov. Sarah Palin who, on her worst day, is 10 times the woman that Ms. McCain will EVER be.

Just shut the fuck up Meghan. You are an idiot and an embarrassment. I know the Republican Party is a "big tent" but it isn't big enough to accommodate your ego and your stupidity! You truly are not terribly bright.

OH SHERIFF JOE, NO YOU DIDN'T!

Attorney General Eric Holder's Justice Department is once again proving its rank stupidity by filing a lawsuit against Sheriff Joe Arapaio. Just before the lawsuit was filed, it seems that the good sheriff, being somewhat smarter than a fifth grader, via his attorneys, filed a FOIA request to ICE and got their report on their review of his department.

Guess what? According to an article in the Washington Examiner written by Byron York, Maricopa County's Sheriff's Department passed with flying colors on all fronts!

You've heard a lot about the Justice Department's lawsuit to stop the new Arizona immigration law. But that's just one part of the Obama administration's multi-front war on immigration enforcement in Arizona.

In addition to the drive to kill the new law, Attorney General Eric Holder is also suing the Maricopa Community College system in Phoenix, alleging it broke the law by requiring a job seeker to provide a green card before being hired. And on Thursday the Justice Department filed suit against the Maricopa County Sheriff's office, run by the flamboyant Joe Arpaio, as part of an extended investigation into alleged civil rights violations there.

Despite the splash of attention from the newest lawsuit, the Justice Department's investigation of Arpaio could end badly for Holder. When the Department first informed Arpaio that a probe was under way, back in March 2009, it sent a letter saying the investigation would focus on "alleged patterns or practices of discriminatory police practices and unconstitutional searches and seizures." But now we learn that just six months before that, in September 2008, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, known as ICE, did its own investigation of Arpaio's office -- and gave it a clean bill of health. Arpaio's lawyers recently got a copy of the ICE report through the Freedom of Information Act.

ICE officials evaluated how the sheriff's office performed under a law that allows specially trained local law enforcement officers to enforce parts of federal immigration law. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, which is the largest sheriff's office in the Arizona, has 189 officers who have been trained by ICE to enforce federal immigration statutes.

Is that egg on your face Mr. Holder? Are you embarrassed yet? Are you ready to resign? If not, your impeachment may be arranged or else it's entirely possible that you will find your incompetent bigoted ass under the same bus where Rev. Jeremiah Wright found himself, along with a lot of other people who have embarrassed your boss - The Boy King!

Lisa Murkowski, a miserable RINO and all around sycophantic cretin, was defeated by Sarah Palin's endorsed candidate in the Republican primary in Alaska. No they haven't declared a winner and there are still some 5,000 absentee ballots to count, but the mountain to be climbed by Senator Murkowski is way too steep statistically to be climbed. It is beyond Everest!

You will recall that Senator Murkowski got her seat the old fashioned way - her Daddy gave it to her. The challenge in the primary by Joe Miller was inevitable and healthy and her defeat by Joe Miller was a salutory slap in the face to old time party cronyism! And now, the National Republicans are sticking their toes into a place they shouldn't go. As Conservatives4Palin puts it:

Let me get this straight. After taking loads of abuse from the grassroots for endorsing Charlie Crist before Rubio’s campaign got off the ground, and with Murkowski already pointedly refusing to rule out a third-party bid if Miller’s (shrinking) lead holds up, John Cornyn and the NRSC are … sending their top lawyer to help her out? And framing it explicitly in terms of retaining incumbents? Do they really have no idea of how bitterly ferocious the backlash will be among the Republican base — especially, but not only, among Palin’s supporters — if they’re seen as tilting the election to Murkowski? And how embarrassing it’ll be if they try to do so and fail and then get knifed in the back when she bolts to run as a libertarian?

This is why they will get not dime one from me this year! I'm sick of this sleazy shit! Where I come from it is axiomatic that the Party stay OUT of primary battles altogether. He may be an s.o.b., but he's OUR s.o.b. was the rule. Why then are these morons breaking what was a very sound and sensible rule? My instant answer is that the Republican National Committee is replete with a gaggle of idiots and morons! They don't get my money, kids. I'll contribute to my favored individual candidates and let the RNC paddle its own canoe as best it can.

With Barack Hussein Obama, putative U.S. president, on his 9th vacation since taking office 19 months ago, his minions are being permitted to take his place in the major theme of the Obama Administration - destruction of America - its Constitution and way of life.

The Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday handed labor and social-activist groups a big victory by approving rules making it easier for them to put allies on corporate boards throughout the country.

The measure was approved on a 3-2 vote by a divided commission, with Republican members warning that the change may not pass muster in the courts. It is the first major regulation from last months landmark financial-reform law to win approval.

Business groups insisted that the measure will damage corporate decision-making by bringing fights over politics and radical social agendas into the boardroom. But shareholder groups said it merely gives them minimal rights that investors in other developed countries already have.

I love that phrase "investors in other developed countries already have" France is expelling Muslim immigrants as well as Gypsies (?) in an attempt to secure their own border (!), Britain is admitting that their National Health Service is an abject failure and our president wants us to emulate THEM? Give me a break.

The legacy media is so terrified of the power of the remarkable Sarah Palin (who endorsed Murkowski's opponent in Alaska) and the Tea Party movement, that they are working as hard as they can to downplay any influence the Tea Party movement might have. These p.o.s. writers are scared shitless of anything remotely resembling Tea Party involvement! As well they should be. We've awakened and we're coming for you!

The fact that it is a giant "fuck you" to the American people is beside the point.

Yes, people like Bloomberg are totally tolerant of Islamofascists who seek only their destruction, but completely intolerant of those, like me, who are simply puzzled by their stupidity and self-destructive behavior.

Keep on keeping on Mayor baby. If the Iman has anything to say about it, you won't be around much longer. Once you've served your purpose, you'll become expendable by his standards. Using Christians and Jews, in fact by their own lights all infidels, is part of their faith base.

WHY I DON'T LIKE KRIS JENNER

Last night, out of sheer boredom, I watched the season opener of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and realized whilst watching it that I have developed an abiding dislike of Kris Jenner.

In the episode, Kim (who endlessly prattles on about her "career" - apparently posing half clothed at openings and for Playboy is on a par in her mind with being a nurse, a teacher or a doctor) had bought herself a beautiful new house, which she had furnished in careful detail. Her mother, showing absolutely no respect for her daughter's wishes, insisted on throwing a housewarming in her daughter's new house. I'd have locked the door and embarrassed Mom as a reward for her complete disregard for my own property rights, but Kim was stupid enough to let her get away with it - as they all let her get away with all kinds of pushy shit! So then she permitted people to disrespect Kim's home by removing barriers to rooms Kim didn't wish to be used - resulting in a red wine stain on one of the white sofa pillows! And that was just the beginning.

The only likeable characters in this entire show are Bruce Jenner (despite the fact that he is a doormat to his wife) and Khloe Odom who had the good sense to get married and buy a house in a gated community, thus having control of if and when Mom comes to visit. Sensible lass.

Meanwhile, nobody seems to find anything wrong with the 13 and 14-year olds Kendall and Kylie starting a modeling career - emulating big sis Kim and her near naked poses! I feel safe in saying that Kris Jenner is pimping out her own children. Deplorable woman.

So why isn't he working and paying his own way instead of mooching off his sister? Why can't he pay rent on his own crappy little apartment like most new college graduates do? It's part of the rite of passage for heavens' sakes!

"We've got a long way to go, but I think a number of factors are moving in the right direction for us."

I live where Tim Kaine formerly governed - The Commonwealth of Virginia. We now have an effective and skillful governor - Bob McDonnell. Here is one small measure of the current governor's effectiveness (in comparison to Tim Kaine total ineffectiveness) - Tim Kaine closed all the rest areas along I-95 in both directions to save money because the State was in such woeful financial shape. Not only has Bob McDonnell already reopened those rest stops, but Virginia's finances are in healthy condition again after 4 years of Kaine's mishandling of the Commonwealth's purse.

So while I do not recommend that anyone become smug or lazy when working against the blithering idiots currently infecting both the House and Senate, to make a complete reform as of November 2nd, take heart. They have a moron leading their party and all the money in their coffers will avail them very little in the hands of a mis-manager like Kaine!

More and more it is becoming imperative that we make every possible effort to remove these idiotic trolls from public office! They are taking our country down for the third time and we're running out of time to do CPR!

As a Catholic, I have every right to be offended and outraged and you, Sir, have no right to tell me what I ought to think!

As to Mayor Bloomberg - you, sir, are an idiot! Do you think that appeasing these murderous bastards will prevent them from perpetrating further outrages? That is bullshit and any rational person knows it.

And just because I can take off all my clothes and go marching down the street au naturale, doesn't mean I should do so. There are consequences to that behavior and I should consider them before I indulge my baser feelings or desire to eschew clothing for 10 minutes.

The objections of numerous voices to the construction of a super-mosque across the street from Ground Zero should be heard, considered and acted upon by moving the super-mosque to another locale. Yes, they MAY build there but NO THEY SHOULD NOT be so crass as to do so. Good taste dictates that the damned mosque be built elsewhere.

Furthermore, I do not consider myself "racist" in any way for feeling that good taste and a sense of propriety should inform the decisions being made about that mosque. I am, above all, a member of the HUMAN race and MY feelings are just as important as those of some radical Iman who wants to raise his middle finger in the air at the death of 3,000 other members of the human race because Jihad, Inc. has decided to make war on America.

In other words, just this once, I would like to be on the receiving end of some freaking sensitivity you aberrant goons!

IT'S THURSDAY AFTERNOON - DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR PRESIDENT IS?

It's August. Congress isn't in session so the traffic in D.C. should be light - notice I said "should be" not "is". For some peculiar reason, the traffic is worse than I've ever seen it. What's up with that. It could be because the bicycle-riding Mayor of D.C., a moronic twit named Adrian Fenty, has deemed it proper to put bicycle lanes down the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue. These bicycle lanes dead end at the Capitol and at the White House. Since D.C. bicycle riders tend to be the most dismissive of any rules of the road, I'm truly not certain what Mayor Fenty had in mind when he placed these ridiculous bike lanes down the MIDDLE of Pennsylvania Avenue, although it is well known that it is his vision, based on the peculiar ideas dancing in his head, that motor vehicle traffic should be discouraged in the nation's capitol. Others have tried to remove American citizens from their vehicles and have lived to recognize the error of their ways. I'm not certain that the Mayor of D.C. has the wherewithal to come to such a common sense observation. But at least, despite a speaking style that reminds me of someone consuming mush whilst attempting to communicate, he doesn't seem to be the roaring drug addict that some former D.C. mayors have been.

Meanwhile, the Obamas are planning on yet another vacation this month - to Martha's Vineyard. So Spain was just a tease Michelle? Are we once again going to be treated to your tacky sense of style and non-stop views of your armpits? Are you once again going to eschew dressing your age, opting instead to try to dress like a teenager? Dear lord, the first couple are a disaster in nearly every way.

Talk about buying a pig in a poke. That's what we got when people voted this incompetent Chicago pol into the White House. And maybe, given the treatment of George W. Bush that the grown-ups among us tolerated and didn't protest, we do in some fashion deserve the appalling Obamas. Meanwhile, George W. According to the White House's snarky, smug and utterly graceless spokesman, Robert Gibb, the Missouri resounding "no" vote vis-a-vis Obamacare means "nothing". Apparently The Boy King's minions have also failed to bring to his attention the fact that when Herr Obama campaigns for someone, that someone generally loses the election. Hence, Harry Reid and Babs "Call Me Senator [But Not for Long]" Boxer were "gifted" with a visit from His Tattered and increasingly irrelevant Majesty, King Obama the First (and Last).

We can only hope he continues to "support" his favorite Democrats!

AND HOW IS YOUR DAY GOING?

The Virginia Railway Express is - when it's running - an excellent way to get into the District and home again. Driving on I-95 is an unattractive option due to the horrendous congestion northbound (in the morning) and southbound (at night). However, notice that I said "when it's running" as a qualifier.

Over the past three weeks, there has been one snafu after another with VRE, which runs on tracks owned and [allegedly] maintained by CSX. During this three week period, there have been slow downs due to signal deficiencies, hot weather speed restrictions, insufficient staff (that's on VRE who have their own personnel) and other problems. This afternoon, another wrinkle has been added to the ugly stew of VRE! A CSX train carrying coal derailed around Quantico, blocking ALL tracks and thus making it impossible for people to get home with any expectations of speed or normal convenience. In the immortal words of VRE - "you may wish to make other arrangements"- and so we have. Friend Joyce, bless her heart, has 3 sons and 1 daughter, and they are all helpful and accommodating people. Sons Jason and David are both unavailable this afternoon, but son Steve will be picking us up at the end of the Springfield Metro line running out of D.C. and taking us home. If my luck is running good, his beautiful American bulldog Stuart will be riding shotgun and affording me the opportunity for doggie kisses and cuddles! I'll always make lemonade out of lemons, given the chance!

Beautiful sis Linda was our "fallback" position, but luckily Steve has jumped forth into the breach with his small truck which is far more comfortable than Linda's sports car!

UPDATE: The commute home ended up being that well known Chinese Fire Drill, in that Metro was experiencing power outages on its tracks. Consequently, we were "detrained twice and still had only managed to cover 1/4 of the geography needed to get us to Steve at Franconia/ Springfield. Finally, when we were kicked off the train a second time at Pentagon City, we decided to take a taxi. Only problem, it was raining and no taxis were to be had. When we finally did get into a taxi, the doorman at the Ritz Carlton tried to persuade the taxi driver to kick us out and allow a man trying to get to the airport to take over. I wish I had gotten the taxi driver's name but he was adamant. According to the law in that venue, once our butts were planted on the seats, and absent any kind of bad behavior on our parts, he could not ask us to give our taxi over to a third party! And, our driver continued, he didn't WANT to go to the airpot and he DID WANT two elderly ladies who were up a stump of sorts in his cab. What anice young man. I finally got home (thanks to Steve's good work) at nearly 9 p.m.!

That pair of useless cretins, Michaele and Tareq Salahi were in New York yesterday so that the stick figure with the bleached blonde hair and entitled attitude could appear on The View to promote Real Housewives of D.C. - a show I will not watch. Film shows Whoopi Goldberg (who was not involved in the segment) walk out, touch Mrs. Salami on the shoulder and ask her to go back to the White House.

This completely useless piece of classless trash then proceeded to weep and wail that Whoopi had assaulted her! Did this moronic twit even notice that everything that happened was being FILMED? All this couple are is a pair of relentless self-promoters with no judgment and no class. She isn't even pretty for heaven's sakes!

Time for you felonious nitwits to go away and quit polluting our view with your crap. You contribute nothing to this society and despite your feelings of entitlement, you should be receiving no renumeration for making an ass of yourself by crashing the White House and endangering the President of the United States and his family. First of all, I have serious issues with a woman her age being "Katie" - which is an appellation for a juvenile. Now we hear the tape in circulation which shows the brainless twit named Couric mocking the names of Sarah Palin's children.

The 2008 video, taken from a raw satellite feed, shows Couric, wearing reading glasses, rehearsing some intros at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn.

"Where the hell do they get these names?" she says while reading some copy about Palin's son, Track Palin. Just before that, Couric had mentioned then-four-month-old Trig Palin, the youngest of Palin's five children who was born with Down Syndrome.

Later in the video, Couric has some trouble with the correct pronunciation of Wasilla, Palin's hometown in Alaska.

The video was shot a few weeks before Couric's often-testy sitdown with Sarah Palin, in which the Vice Presidential hopeful couldn't name a publication she read regularly.

There is also another tape in circulation that shows her mocking her predecessor - Dan Rather. Say what you will about Dan Rather (and I've been as critical and dismissive as anyone - of his journalistic behavior in recent years), but on his WORST day he is twice the pure newsman than Ms. Couric will ever be.

The people of Missouri voted yesterday and sent a clear and unmistakeable message to The Boy King about his health care bill's provisions.

With most of the vote counted, Proposition C was winning by a ratio of nearly 3 to 1. The measure, which seeks to exempt Missouri from the insurance mandate in the new health care law, includes a provision that would change how insurance companies that go out of business in Missouri liquidate their assets.

"I've never seen anything like it," Cunningham said at a campaign gathering at a private home in Town and Country. "Citizens wanted their voices to be heard."

About 30 Proposition C supporters whooped it up loudly at 9 p.m. when the returns flashed on the television showing the measure passing with more than 70 percent of the vote.

1. Ms. Sherrod is suing Andrew Breitbart for his exposure of her racism (which she fully admitted). She might want to rethink that particular plan of hers - Breitbart is a very canny fellow and may have done what he did for larger reasons than just her racist mindset. Like the $16 million she and her husband got from the taxpayers to compensate them for losing their $9 million worth of farmland!
   
2. Charlie Rangel is holding on by his fingernails to his seat in Congress. Charlie, you may have waited too long - the handwriting is on the wall and you are going to be Nancy Pelosi's sacrificial lamb to her asinine claims to running "the most ethical Congress" in history. Did ya think she liked you Charlie? What's it like under that bus, fellow?

So some Clinton era judge has pulled the teeth out of SB 1070 in Arizona, only allowing inconsequential portions of the bill to remain. This matter can and will be settled at the polls in November if people of common sense, with respect for the U.S. Constitution and laws, prevail. If you don't vote, the Left wingnuts be able to continue to destroy this nation. The Boy King and his various minions are, even now, plotting to give amnesty by royal decree (aka Executive Order) and that will be the final nail in the coffin of his administration which seldom administers and even less seldom governs. The flittering butterfly who currently occupies the White House is far too busy making himself a darling of popular fashion and far less interested in getting busy with the real nuts and bolts of governing a nation of over 300 million people - many of whom do not agree for one second with his vision to destroy this Republic.

ONCE AGAIN THE NARRATIVE GETS AWAY FROM OBAMA!

It is instructive to see the Obama White House once again struggling to stay ahead of a story that shows the competence of the Administration in a dubious light, to say the least. In an article posted about 2 hours ago, Ben Evans of the AP opined thus:

Perhaps that's because a year ago — almost to the day — Obama was burned by his own misstep on race, wading into the uproar surrounding the arrest of black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates outside his home by Sgt. James Crowley, a white police officer.

In that case, Obama admitted "I don't know all the facts," then proceeded to indict the Cambridge, Mass., police for acting "stupidly."

That rare, undisciplined gaffe created a backlash that also distracted attention from his signature proposal at the time, health care reform. Obama acknowledged he should have chosen his words better, and he convened his famous beer summit in an effort to turn the incident into a "teachable moment."

Let's at least get the timeline right folks.

First, the video clip, heavily edited was sent to Andrew Breitbart in what easily could have been an effort to somehow discredit him or bring his journalistic ethics and skills into disrepute. After the clip went viral, Shirley Sherrod lost her job, and then and only then did Fox News and the conservative blogsphere pick it up and run with it. Then the FULL video was put out by the NAACP. In the meantime, the White House was apparently pressuring the USDA to fire the woman and in a burst of non-civil-rights behavior, denied her due process of any kind. She was in her vehicle, heading to a meeting, when someone called and told her to pull to the side of the road. They fired this long-time employee (and I don't care how left-leaning or embarrassing this woman might be, this is a truly thuggish way of handling things) over the damned PHONE. Just another Obama loyalist thrown under the nearest available bus.

One could easily suppose that this entire matter had been set up to kick the props out from under the Tea Party's well-founded assertion that it is not a racist movement. Hell, it's not even very well organized! Bearing in mind the famous assertion of Rahm Emanuel that no good crisis should ever be allowed to go to waste, this has been quite the little distraction. And here's the deal you arrogant sons-of-bitches - we don't need no damned "teachable moments" - we aren't morons or simpletons to be instructed by those who perceive themselves as our betters. We're going to give YOU a teachable moment at the polls in November!

Over Memorial Day weekend this year, I had a truly horrendous attack of diverticulitis. So of course, my doctor, erring on the side of caution, insisted that I consult a gastro-enterologist (which I did - I'm occasionally compliant) and he scheduled me for a colonoscopy - something I have been avoiding for many years, for the patently childish (I admit it) reason that I loathe and despise Katie Couric and she's a big proponent of this procedure for excellent reasons.

Anyway, yesterday was the big day and I was dreading it almost as much as I dread the re-election of Barack Obama in 2012! That is some dread, let me tell you. The preparation for the procedure is ghastly, there are no 2 ways about it. First you have to drink this STUFF that is designed to make the field to be examined as blamelessly clean as possible. It is - to put it mildly - disgusting crap and I'm glad I don't need to have this procedure again for another 7-10 years! In the meantime, someone could make a veritable fortune if they could discover a less foul-tasting substitute for the offensive crud - of which I was supposed to drink an entire gallon! Yuck, yuck and double-yuck!

The disgusting and nearly undrinkable sludge did its job and yesterday, beloved Sis took me to the hospital where I checked in and they proceeded to hook me up to an IV, sedate me and do their little procedure. THAT part of it was absolutely painless - other than the insertion of the IV into my right hand.

When I awoke in recovery, surprisingly bright-eyed and alert, I was given the very good news by Dr. Tribble (who is an absolute sweetheart of a man) that I had only two teensy polyps, probably benign, that he had removed for lab work but as far as he could see, I was in great shape. Also a shout out of praise to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia where I have never had a bad experience. It's a great hospital with a kind and caring staff of professionals.

The whole point of this post is - if you are over 50 years of age or are experiencing some gastro problems, go get this procedure done. Yes, it's unpleasant and yes, it's a tad undignified - but the bottom line is that I am frisking around this morning feeling quite joyous because I now KNOW FOR A FACT that the Memorial Day weekend debacle didn't happen because of some cancerous growth invading my body. I'm 68 years old and occasional flashes of fear of my own mortality visit from time to time! I'm not afraid to die, mind you. I'm mostly afraid to die with a dirty house! In fact, yesterday afternoon I had friend Bobby working away on the front borders and my brick sidewalks, excavating and banishing the weeds that have suddenly grown up there. Time to buy some Round-Up!

So go find yourself a good gastro person and keep your innards ticking over like a well tuned engine! There are rewards to be found there! And you might as well get this procedure done now while health insurance still covers it! Who knows what awaits us in the wonderful world of Obamacare?

UPDATE: Got a call from the doctor's office yesterday morning - no signs of cancer in the two polyps removed. Don't have to do a colonoscopy for another ten years! Whee!

GEORGE STEINBRENNER DIED TODAY

George Steinbrenner, who rebuilt the New York Yankees into a sports empire with a mix of bluster and big bucks that polarized fans all across America, died Tuesday. He had just celebrated his 80th birthday July 4. The Yankees will not be nearly so interesting without him!

I grew up down the street from Mr. Steinbrenner. He was an asshole as a young man and so far as I could see, that never changed. But he was a successful one! From the shipbuilding business he inherited from his father, to owning the New York Yankees - which quite honestly was a betrayal of his Cleveland roots in my view - everything George Steinbrenner touched was successful.

Rest in peace. You lived a full measure of 80 years and will be long remembered.

LET'S DISCUSS MEL GIBSON

Mr. Gibson has gone from being the Sexiest Man Alive (never bought that one) to being the pariah of Hollywood. This has been a long time coming as the town never quite forgave Mr. Gibson for the immense and continuing success of The Passion of the Christ!

The current situation is immensely sad and troubling, as I firmly believe that Mel Gibson is suffering a total nervous breakdown, the result of guilt, mid-life crisis and the psychosis engendered by his admiration for his utterly demented father whose version of Catholicism is bizarre and troubling to say the least.

First, Mel Gibson's 28-year marriage to Robyn probably wouldn't have dissolved, had he not encountered a Russian woman of questionable character and antecedents. A lot of information is now being revealed about her desire to promote herself through the men with whom she ingratiates herself - ala Bonnie Lee Blakely! Or am I the only person seeing the similarities?

Part of Mel's rant to Oksana the mysterious opportunistic Russian parasite who bore Mel Gibson a daughter 9 months ago includes the comment that he left a woman with whom he had no spiritual dialogue and that he lacks a spiritual dialogue with Oksana as well! I find that comment tremendously telling. Mr. Gibson's father is well known to practice a version of Catholicism that would be unrecognizable to the Pope! And if indeed Mel Gibson subscribes to his father's extreme version of Catholicism, then he is experiencing double the pressure and double the guilt over his recent behavior vis-a-vis his out of wedlock child.

Given the pressures exerted by his admiration and love for his rather nutty father and those exerted by his guilt over breaking a pretty significant commandment (and don't think that we Catholics are casual about adultery because we aren't), added to a probable midlife crisis, Mr. Gibson's psyche is in serious trouble and the man deserves not condemnation but rather understanding and encouragement to seek the help of highly qualified mental health professionals. He needs his friends now and so far, I've seen evidence of one, highly intelligent and surprisingly loyal friend in Whoopi Goldberg whose comments regarding this entire situation yesterday on "The View" were beautifully compassionate about a man with whom she has been friends for many years. My respect for Ms. Goldberg has increased greatly. She is an intelligent woman who doesn't knee jerk unnecessarily.

AND ANOTHER LOAD OF HORSE COOKIES IS DROPPED!

This time by the sour grapes peddling owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers who seems to have forgotten that this is a business not a love affair! His whining sounds, for all the world, like a jilted lover!

LeBron James played for him for five years and in those five years, Dan Gilbert never supplied James with sufficiently talented supporting players and management to enable James to achieve his #1 goal - to win an NBA championship. Now granted, LeBron is only 25 years of age but the lifespan of a professional athletes career is necessarily limited by the physical grind of the career. So the following pure-Lord CRAP from Dan Gilbert (who probably didn't EARN one dime of his money but rather inherited it from harder-working, less infantile progenitors) is just offensive as hell to me - and I grew up in Cleveland!

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.
This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.
The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.
You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

Someone needs to slap Dan Gilbert upside the head and make him realize that LeBron James was his EMPLOYEE, not his LOVER! And this kind of whining sour grapes is unbecoming the City of Cleveland, the State of Ohio and ultimately the NBA as well!

THERE'S GOOD NEWS HAPPENING OUT THERE FOLKS!

Lest we go into this coming weekend feeling downhearted and negative, there are a few things to consider that are positive.

1. President Obama was out in Nevada campaigning for the soon-to-be-ex-Senator Harry Reid. I state this based on Zippy's past record in dooming those for whom he campaigns to ignominious defeat. Could we encourage him to campaign for San Fran Nan and Babs "Call me Senator" Boxer!?
2. The LeBron James saga has reached its climax and I correctly predicted that he would be going to Miami (won some serious cash on that one folks).
3. The damned World Cup nonsense is also coming to an end this weekend, although I understand the prognosticating crab is under threat of extinction from Germany. Hey, Germany, buy a vowel! The crab only predicted your loss; your team played poorly enough to make his prediction come true!
4. The State of Ohio has finally realized - four years after the fact - that I don't live (or vote) there any more! Way to go you dimwitted Democratic dorks!
5. We're one day closer to January 20, 2013!
   
6. Another 3 day weekend is upon me! Whooeeee!
   

DOGGONE IT - IT'S HOT OUT THERE

Granted, it's July and probably should be hot, but even with the House and Senate off on their protracted Independence Day vacation, there is still a lot of hot air in this town!

Today we are actually experiencing a cool down - it's under 100 degrees and will be for the rest of the week. That's a major improvement over yesterday's ovenlike temps!

And no, I do not now nor will I ever believe in old lizard-eyed ManBearPig Gore's proclamations of man-caused Global Warming. He's full of shit and so are his cult's adherents. We can't get the oil up out of the Gulf. How then can we affect the global temperature? It's a ludicrous notion. He's a ludicrous excuse for a human being. Tipper - divorcing his fat ass is probably the smartest thing you've done in your entire lifetime!

CATS AND HOLIDAY WEEKENDS

My dear boss, Jeremiah, who has perfect pitch when it comes to gift giving, gave me a 12-disc set of Rogers & Hammerstein musicals as a birthday gift last Friday. As a result, I spent considerable happy time over this past weekend revisiting some of the utterly delightful Broadway shows created by these two brilliant and creative collaborators.

Of all the shows, my favorite is "Oklahoma" for a lot of reasons. What I enjoyed most was watching Rusty the cat, my little predator (and he truly IS a little predator - don't let his fluffy beauty fool you) was enthralled whenever Gordon MacRae was singing! He'd just plant his little self right in front of the TV and GAZE at the screen. He tended to enjoy Oklahoma more than Carousel - maybe because his hero dies in Carousel! Who knows what happens in the mind of CAT?

THEY'LL HAVE 7 WEEKS TO ENACT MORE MISCHIEF!

After the November election - and assuming that the results will be as the Democrats deserve, namely that they will be true lame ducks and, as of 1/1/11, largely unemployed, the House and Senate as currently constituted will have 7 weeks in which to pass all manner of bad legislation, unless we start raising hell in advance and letting our Republican/Independent brethren know that filibuster early and filibuster often should be the order of the day - and if they don't have the stomach or the stones to do it, they will pay at the next midterm and pay big!

It is an unfortunate fact of life that these devious, unprincipled and utterly anti-American pipsqueaks will do their very best to further screw up the body politic in this country. It is our job to both pray and act to see to it that they don't manage to do so. The praying is easy, the action is to bombard them with letters, emails and candygrams to remind them that THEY work for US and that we won't tolerate any further nonsense!

We're coming into the home stretch kids, and it's time to take a serious and principled stand against the chicanery being done in the name of the Kenyan Wetback and his Chicago cronies, aided and abetted by the Lizard King, George Soros!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

FRUITA, Colo. - According to KDVR.com in Colorado, a woman claims she spotted a vampire in the middle of a dirt road near Fruita, Sunday night. She told Colorado State Troopers she was startled by the undead being, threw her car into reverse, and crashed into a canal.

Apparently a "crazed sex poodle" was out for a walk, looking for his shakra to be adjusted!

Adnan Shukrijumah is a wanted al Qaeda terrorist who was at one time suspected of planning a dirty bomb attack against the US. Shukrijumah was born in Saudi Arabia but raised in the US. At one time alerts were issued that he might try and cross into the US through Mexico. There is a $5 million reward for information on his whereabouts from the FBI.
